Arena, in Manchester, England. Harrison, who’s looked bad in the past in getting beaten by mediocre heavyweights, now finds himself with the possibility that his £1 million purse will be withheld by the British Boxing Board of Control because of the non-effort from Harrison in the fight.

Harrison has faced a flood of criticism for his performance from fans, managers and fighters because of his lack of effort against Haye. It was supposed to be Harrison’s last chance to make it big and he had promised that he would come out throwing left hand bombs against Haye. Instead of that, boxing fans got to see Harrison standing like a big mannequin while Haye tagged him in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the fight.

The secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control Robert Smith said, “It is a very difficult course to take to stop someone getting paid when they have just frozen. But rescinding some or all of Audley Harrison’s purse is something which we will have to consider. You have to bear in mind it was such a let down for the 22,000 at the MEN Arena and the thousands watching at home.”

It’s likely that Harrison will get all of his money in the end, but there is a possibility that Harrison could lose some of it because of his unwillingness to throw any punches. In total, Harrison threw one jab and that was the extent of his offense in the fight. Harrison did do a good job of making Haye look great, much better than he actually is. The boost of confidence from Haye might catapult him into finally taking on one of the Klitschkos in the near future.
