Grant thinks Adamek can knockout the Klitschko brothers

By Sean McDaniel: You have to wonder whether Michael Grant may have been hit a little too hard last Saturday night in his 12 round decision loss to up and coming 33-year-old heavyweight Tomas Adamek at the prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey. Grant was able to hurt Adamek with hard shots on at least three occasions and had him hurt and scrambling around in the 12th to save himself from getting knocked out by Grant. In an article at Nothjersey.com, Grant seems to like Adamek’s chances in beating the Klitschko brothers, saying “Can he [Adamek] beat them? He can make it difficult. he won’t be able to knock them out. But I don’t know, he probably can. Those guys, their chins are suspect.”

I think Grant has Vitali Klitschko mixed up with someone else, because Vitali has never been hurt in any of his fights. He did have his fight stopped against Lennox Lewis years ago, but that was only because Vitali was cut badly over his left eye and the fight was stopped because of that. It’s Wladimir who is the one that’s had a chin problem during his career. However, Adamek doesn’t seem to have the reach or the power needed to give Wladimir any problems.

It would be hard to see Adamek being able to land as many shots as he did against Grant, because Wladimir has a much better jab, and his powerful right hand and left hook would be a constant danger for Adamek. I can see Adamek changing his mind about wanting to win the fight very early on ad just being content with losing a decision.
