Sosnowski, 31, is totally unproven at the world level, with many of his wins coming against fighters that aren’t anywhere near the 1st tier. Vitali obviously saw something in Sosnowski to make him want to fight him, perhaps his flashy 45-2 record.

Never the less, I can’t see Sosnowski lasting long with Vitali this Saturday night unless Vitali carries the guy for five to six rounds and keeps him in the fight to give the German fans, and all the boxing fans that are purchasing this on pay per view, their monies worth. Sosnowski does have a little bit of power, but he’s rather slow on his feet and does a lot better against fighters that stand directly in front of him all night long. Klitschko, 38, will probably be right there in front of him, but won’t make it easy for Sosnowski to land his shots because he’ll be too busy clobbering him with punches or leaning away from Sosnowski’s shots.

Sosnowski is light years away from Vitali in terms of talent and it’s going to be hard to see how he can match up with him. At 6’2 ½”, Sosnowski will be giving away nearly five inches in height to the 6’7” Vitali and 20 pounds in weight. Without crushing power or blazing hand speed working for him, Sosnowski will be pretty much a slow, European plodder facing perhaps the #1 or #2 top heavyweight in the division in Vitali.

I think this fight could be a duplicate version of Vitali’s 10th round stoppage win over Chris Arreola last year, but that’s only if Vitali keeps Sosnowski in the fight for that long of a time. I’m afraid if Vitali sits down on his punches, this fight could end very quickly. Sosnowski isn’t awkward like Juan Carlos Gomez, doesn’t hit as hard as Arreola and isn’t as skilled defensively like Kevin Johnson, all recent victims of Vitali.

Vitali would like to fight WBA heavyweight champion David Haye before he retires from boxing but that’s not looking likely for the future. Haye hasn’t really been willing to step up to the plate with either of the Klitschko brothers, despite calling them out frequently in the media. As of now, Haye’s plans are uncertain. There is talk of him possibly fighting Vitali’s brother IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in the future, after Wladimir defends his titles against challenger Alexander Povetkin.
