As of now, the following fights could wind up on the undercard: former World Boxing Council light middleweight champion Sergio Mora vs. Daniel Edouard, Jason Litzau vs. Rocky Juarez at lightweight, and light heavyweight prospect Ismayl Sillakh vs. Enrique Ornelas. Frankly, these fights as a whole aren’t enough for me to want to plunk down $49.95 to see the fight card.

The Hopkins-Jones fight is the only one that’s mildly interesting, and I could care less about seeing Mora, Edouard, Juarez-Litzau and Sillakh-Enrique. I think those fights would make for an interesting Friday night Fights undercard, but I don’t see them as being appealing enough to pay big bucks to see the entire card. A better deal would be to drop the undercard completely and knock off $40 for the fight card and sell just the main even for $10.

After all, we’re not talking about a title match here and Hopkins and Jones are both over 40-years-old. How can you ask $50 for a card that doesn’t even have a title fight? I find it kind of off putting anyway to see Jones fight right now after watching him getting drilled to pieces in his last fight. I like his banter with Hopkins at their recent press conference, but I have a bad feeling about what may take place in the ring once the punches start flying.

I don’t want to see Jones get knocked out again. And considering that Jones was stopped in the 1st round in his last fight in December against IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green, I think it would be better for Jones to take some more time from boxing and recover before getting in the ring with the 45-year-old Hopkins. This fight could end up going badly for the 41-year-old Jones.

Sergio Mora (21-1-1, 5 KO’s) hasn’t fought in 16 months since being dominated by Vernon Forrest in a 12 round decision loss in September 2008. That’s a heck of a long time to be out of the ring. I can only imagine how rusty the light-hitting Mora will likely be after all this time. I think he’s great fighter, but I don’t find this match up interesting in the least. It would be something I would watch on ESPN, but not one that I would want to pay to see.

Like I said, drop this fight and the entire undercard and sell the main event for $10 and I’ll watch it. I guess it would be like watching old baseball game between a couple well worn teams. It would be okay, but I would expect the tickets to be sold for way cheaper than full price admission. Maybe if they threw in autographs from Hopkins and Jones to have sent to the fans watching at home, it would be worth paying a few more bucks.
