Chambers, 27, thinks that he has an excellent chance of beating the 33-year-old Klitschko on March 20th. Chambers’ confidence is no doubt boosted by his impressive recent wins over Samuel Peter and Alexander Dimitrenko in 2009.

Chambers looked really good in beating Peter and Dimitrenko. He showed a lot of hand speed and a good work rate, and did well at making them miss. Wladimir 6’6” comes into this fight with a big size advantage over the 6’1” 208 pound Chambers. The size factor alone would seem to make it very tough on Chambers for this fight.

Chambers isn’t a knockout puncher by any stretch of the imagination and is more of a fighter who wins his fights, in most cases, by decision. It’s possible but highly unlikely that Chambers will be able to out-box Wladimir through 12 rounds. Klitschko, like his brother WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, rarely losses rounds to anyone.

When Wladimir does give up rounds, it’s generally in rounds in which he’s been knocked down by his opponents. Wladimir hasn’t been knocked down in a fight since 2005 when he was dropped three times in a fight against Samuel Peter. At the time, this was not too long after Klitschko had joined with trainer Emanuel Steward and he was in the middle of changing his style of fighting. Chambers isn’t a big puncher like Peter, so he’s going to have to find a way to try and out-box Wladimir by using his hand speed on the inside.
