Who’s next for Manny?

pac32222By Paolo Angelo Natanawan: After the stunning victory against Miguel Angel Cotto, a lot of questions are again starting to pile up but there is only one worth answering. Who’s next for Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao (50-3-2), 38 KO’s) Freddie Roach wants what most of the fans, boxing analyst/experts and ordinary people around the world also wants, Floyd Mayweather Jr (40-0, 25 KO’s).

Is that fight gonna happen? For me honestly, chances of it happening is really slim. A lot of reasons preventing it to happen. One is Bob Arum’s unwillingness to work with Mayweather. Two, Mayweather is going to ask for more “MONEY” of course than what he deserves while Pacquiao will also demand the same thing. Both side will ask for a 60/40 split and I don’t see anyone backing down. Even though most of you would agree with me that Pacquiao deserves more than Mayweather. Why would number 2 receives more than number 1? As for the fight prediction I’ll provide a new article for that.

Mayweather is not the only choice for Manny. He can fight Shane Mosley(46-5-0). He is also a good fighter. Even if he lost against Cotto. Though again some of you might say what’s the point of fighting someone who lost to the fighter whom you already have defeated? But still, A Pacquiao-Mosley fight promises a good fight and more feasible than a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight. Keep in mind Mosley defeated plaster-packed Margarito. The one who gave the other loss to Cotto.

Some are talking about the likes of Paul Williams(37-1-0 light middleweight) and Kermit Cintron(32-2-1 light middleweight). These guys now are both big(Williams 6’1” while Cintron 5’11”) and really heavy. If both guys would agree to face Manny at 145 – 147. There’s no point in Manny going to 154 to meet them. When Paul last fought at 145 1/2 is against Carlos Quintana last year. He won via TKO in the first round. Cintron last fought at 146 1/2 against Lovemore N’dou and Antonio Margarito also last year. He won against N’dou via unanimous decision and lost against Margarito via KO in the 6th round another controversial win because of the loaded wraps. Considering both guys agreed to fight at welterweight. This is again another David vs Goliath match. Manny would be up against really big ones, I mean literally. Difference between them is noticeable. Height and reach advantage very clear. But then again I would still pick Pacquiao. Nothing is impossible. Did you see the Valuev-Haye fight? See the difference? Probably another article for that one when it comes.

And also there is Juan Manuel Marquez. You can’t count him out yet just because he lost to Mayweather. He was blinded by his eagerness to fight Pacquiao that he didn’t saw what was in front of him. He thought if he beats Mayweather, Pacquiao would have to face him. That’s what he wants. Why not give it to him? Certainly would make someone here very happy and excited that this site will be flooded with very biased, one-sided BS. I mean pure, untainted, fresh from the pot nonsense. Still I would pick Manny against Marquez.

The only fighter I have trouble seeing Manny walking away with a win against is Mayweather. Anyone who will say its a sure win for either side really knows nothing about both fighters or even boxing for that matter. Still if I were to chose between them, I would pick Manny.

Oh by the way, have you guys seen the latest post of the infamous ones here? So sure they was before the fight but now backing down on their words and now finding themselves making excuses. Really pathetic. One of them even said What will Pacquiao’s excuses will be when he lose the fight? Now he’s the one making excuses. They deserve to get burned.

Let me know if you have other dream fights you see in the future.
