Haye mentioning hoping that Vitali Klitschko can make a voluntary title defense against him next month in July if possible. Haye also has hopes of getting another shot at trying to fight Wladimir.

Haye explained how he had injured his back by shadow boxing last week. That was good information to learn, because I was under the impression that the injury was a degenerative one which was what was said previously by many people.

The injury was so bad, however, that Haye felt that he couldn’t have defeated any of his prior opponents in his career. Haye’s injury must be really bad from the way he describes it, because he’s pretty much destroyed every opponent that has been put in front of him as a cruiserweight during his career and always made it look easy.

He obviously did the right thing by pulling out of the bout, because if Haye wasn’t at 100% for a fight with Wladimir Klitschko, chances are Haye would have been knocked out very quickly against the big Ukrainian champion.

If everything goes well with his rehabilitation from his injury, Haye is counting on being ready to get back in the ring by the end of July. Haye will have to be dead certain, though, that the injury is healed for him to get a title shot against Vitali Klitschko, because this isn’t a fight that Vitalli would want to not taking place.

Vitali has missed too much of his career due to his own injuries and I doubt he’d want to take a chance on Haye pulling up lame again and not being able to make the fight.

Haye says he wants to “biggest and the best”, and wants to try and win the heavyweight title in the near future. Haye sees himself as being able to make a fight with any opponent as a massive fight. That may or may not be true. I think Haye would get a lot of attention if he continued to fight journeyman, but perhaps only because Haye is still an unknown fighter and people from around the world would want to see him fight against anyone to see what the fuss is about.

Haye’s fights will always be big in the UK regardless of whom he fights. In other parts of the world, Haye can get away with fighting journeyman for awhile, but eventually they’ll wonder why he’s not fighting better opponents. Haye prefers to fight the Klitschko brothers for obvious reasons.

Haye says that he’ll be at ringside of Wladimir’s fight with Ruslan Chagaev on June 20th, in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and is hoping that Wladimir looks good in winning. Haye has a good reason for wanting Wladimir to shine in the fight.

Wladimir winning impressively will make a fight with Haye much bigger than if Wladimir stinks out the joint like he’s been doing in his last four fights against Hasim Rahman, Tony Thompson, Sultain Ibragimov and Lamon Brewster. Haye thinks that the fight with Wladimir will still be a bout that the boxing public will want to see even if it takes place down the road.
