By Trevor Weis – Milwaukee, WI – By nature, humans are brash and outspoken, boldly predicting what looms ahead with confident conviction. But time tends to clean the lens: hindsight provides 20/20 vision. And with that in mind, I thought back to the eager anticipation, the unwavering predictions from Manny Pacquiao’s last two mega-fights–“contests” which are now brought into question, even disregarded after the impossible was accomplished.

The Future of boxing?
By Kwame Cinquez: I place a scenario in front of you, quite a ridiculous one I’m sure you would agree. Imagine Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal (No1 + 2 in the WTP Rankings) refusing to face an opponent in a ranked tournament, instead playing a more lucrative exhibition match against an opponent of clearly inferior quality (but far more popular tennis player). This may indeed seem preposterous, but this is indeed the state of contemporary boxing.
Pacquiao/Cotto – Expect Firepower but No Knockout
By David Berry: With just nine days separating the world from the fight of the year, experts and fans alike have heated up the “Firepower” debate to its boiling point. You’ve heard the arguments – Cotto is stronger; Pacquiao is faster. Pacquiao is a 2-1 favorite; Cotto is a reputed odds-beater. Naturally, if you’re a fan of one and not the other, you’re likely to believe whichever side of the argument favors your fighter. In reality, though, when you throw two premier fighters into a ring with 8 ounce gloves on each fist, all bets are off. When the bell rings, words cease and actions take over.
Cotto: “He [Pacquiao] can fight Mayweather as many times as he wants after I beat him” – News
Cotto-Pacquiao: Showtime!!!
By Peter Wells: This is it now we are just over a week away from Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto, everything is on the line for both fighters here, Pacquiao, his legacy, now that he takes on his biggest test of his career, and as for Cotto there’s his pride, how will he handle defeat for a second time. There is no doubt that doesn’t Manny lack power but Miguel is much cleverer than Ricky Hatton and a lot younger than Oscar De La Hoya.
Cotto vs. Pacquiao: Miguel to prevent Manny from winning 7th title
By Manuel Perez: Manny Pacquiao will be trying to make boxing history on November 14th by winning seven world titles in seven different weight divisions when he steps in the ring with WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cotto, 29, will have his World Boxing Organization title on the line despite the fight being held at a 145 pound catch weight for the bout, a move to make it a tad easier for Pacquiao to match up with the talented Puerto Rican fighter.
Pacquiao-Cotto: Manny will be too small for Miguel
By Manuel Perez: Oh man, that is some bad singing from Manny Pacquiao. I can’t believe Pacquiao had the nerve to go on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show and sing for him. I don’t know why athletes try to sing.
Pacquiao-Cotto: What boxing should be
Where Is Pacquiao’s head? – Boxing
By Jamie Hooper: After seeing the last two HBO Pacquiao-Cotto 24/7 episodes I was left thinking that there was something very different about Manny Pacquiao. He is no ordinary fighter. His huge support from the Philippine people has turned into a huge responsibility. As his country is hit my a natural disaster his instinctive desire is to help.
Pacquiao-Cotto: Why Cotto is NOT the same fighter and WILL lose
By Ibrar Arshaid: Miguel Cotto, the once upcoming force in the welterweight division is preparing for the toughest fight of his career against the exceptionally skilled and strong Filipino Manny Pacquiao. The biggest question in boxing today is who will come out victorious between these two great fighters. When comparing the two fighters it is sensible not to just identify the weaknesses of just the one fighter, but one must critically compare the weaknesses and strengths of both fighters to gain a sense of direction in which way the fight will go.
