Dulorme wants Pacquiao fight in November

dulorme67By Chris Williams: With the Chris Algieri vs. Manny Pacquiao fight still not having been made as of yet for November 22nd, #2 WBA, #3 WBC, #4 IBF, #8 WBO light welterweight contender Thomas Dulorme (21-1, 14 KOs) is throwing his own hat in the ring as a potential candidate for the Pacquiao fight.

Dulorme is coming off of a big win over Karim Mayfield in his last fight last March, and he’s younger at 24 then the 30-year-old Algieri, and a bigger puncher than him.

The Pacquiao-Algieiri negotiations have reportedly hit a snag over the $1.5 million that has been offered to Algieri, according to the New York Daily News. Algieri hasn’t agreed on this price, and it’s not surprising considering that Pacquiao’s past opponents have made considerably more than that.

“I’m available and willing to fight the best,” Dulorme said.”Manny Pacquiao may still be looking for an opponent in November, and if that’s the case, I’m ready. I was supposed to fight Ruslan Provodnikov but I was rejected by his team, and they instead accepted the Algieri bout. I will keep training hard in Oxnard with my trainer Robert Garcia, who believes in my talent, and we’re hoping for a great opportunity to show the boxing world what I’m made of.”

It’s not likely that Dulorme will get the fight with Pacquiao, because he doesn’t have the name recognition to get a fight. Algieri doesn’t have a name either, but off of his win over Provodnikov last June, it’s made a name for him with hardcore boxing fans. Dulorme doesn’t have a signature win like that for him to be in the Pacquiao lottery.

“Dulorme is well deserving of a Pacquiao fight being that he is highly ranked across the board,” said Gary Shaw. “Pacquiao vs. Dulorme would be a sensational bout that the fans would love to see. I know Dulorme is up for the challenge so we’ll see what we can do to make it happen.”

Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach still wants Provodnikov to be Pacquiao’s next opponent despite the fact that he’s coming off of a loss. Roach also trains Provodnikov, so you have to take that into account for why he might be so interested in that fight taking place. If Provodnikov gives a good performance in losing, Roach can bask in the glory in saying he’s the one that taught him everything he knows. If Pacquiao wins, Roach can take credit and look good. Either way, Roach would come across looking good.
