Boxing’s most entertaining: Do dreams really come true?

By Jermill Pennington: While the possibility of this fighter fighting that fighter spiral over the web there is one match up that that by far presents the most entertaining television experience. Just think of the world class smack that would be thrown around at the press conferences. The build -up for this fight would exceed whatever projected numbers due to the inevitable tongue lashings that would be given by both sides.

Ideally there wouldn’t be an All Access series to promote these two fighters in an upcoming bout. The fight itself wouldn’t come close to garnering enough notoriety to be a ppv event, however if this fight were to be made fight fans can expect fireworks long before the fighters enter the ring.

Both fighters would come in to the fight with something to prove. In boxing the fight to stay relevant can be your most difficult opponent in a sport that can be unforgiving. That said with both fighters coming off pedestrian performances you can expect emotions to run high and tempers to flare.

I can see it now, low blow after low blow, insults that cut a man to his man core with no restraint or filter. To add to the intrigue of this match you would also have the Mexican versus Puerto Rican rivalry. Continuing to tease like a Catholic school girl at prom I will give another clue, the fighters I speak of aren’t the attraction. In fact, in this match up neither have had a professional fight to my knowledge. If you haven’t guessed by now the match I dream of is Angel Garcia versus Rueben Guerrero.

In order for this to happen of course Danny Garcia (28-0-16 KO’s) would have to face Robert Guerrero (31-2-1-18 KO’s). Talks of this match have surfaced on the rumor mill but as of now nothing has been signed. The match itself would be interesting. I see it as a gauge for both fighters to measure exactly where they are as fighters. I can see the fight being tough and rugged with the guy who has the strongest will winning by a decision. Leading to the fight is where I anticipate some of best/worst verbal attacks since Tyson told Lewis he wanted to eat his kids. Seeing Rueben fiercely going after Floyd Mayweather Sr. added a great deal of intrigue to The Mayweather Jr. vs. Guerrero fight for me. Angel Garcia slandering Zab Judah for his tendency to quit when things get rough seemed to cut Judah to a place most men don’t allow anyone to enter.

Both are fathers who have dedicated a large portion of their lives making sure the dreams of their children are meet. Making that assertion is enough for me to have the utmost respect for both being a father myself. With that said it is likely the primary reason when these two are involved the passion they have is worn on their sleeves. The raw emotion mixed with a liking for the camera is what would make this in my opinion must see TV and by all means should have an All Access series leading in to the fight. Fight fans keep your fingers crossed, hopefully this comes to fruition and we get some of the best entertainment boxing has to offer.
