Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. Boxing’s pound-for-pound king will put his unbeaten 44-0 resume on the line against 22-year-old Mexican sensation Saul “Canelo” Alvarez who has an impressive record of 42-0-1.

In a battle of unbeaten champions which has enthralled the boxing world, the sweet science’s biggest names, boxers, coaches, experts and journalists all have an opinion on the dream matchup.

Various big names in the sport gave their thoughts and opinions on the Mayweather v Canelo match-up during various interviews with www.esnewsreporting.com

Juan Manuel Marquez stated it’s a tough fight for Canelo due to Floyd’s style and defensive skills and suggested that Canelo needs more experience.

A Former opponent of both Canelo and Money, Shane Mosley expressed that Floyd would likely outpoint Canelo.

Tim Bradley said that the fight is compelling but Mayweather won’t be bothered by the weight and will be able to adapt to Canelo’s style.

Jose Luis Castillo who gave Floyd all he could handle in two fights during 2002 stated that he believed Canelo is too green for Floyd suggesting Canelo lacks the experience to win.

Editor of RingTV.com Doug Fischer stated Canelo is not quite ready for someone of Mayweather’s calibre. Although stating that the young Mexican has to the power to alter the fight he hasn’t reached his peak as a world class fighter and will lose by a decision to Floyd.

Legendary trainer Nazim Richardson said that it is hard to pick against Floyd saying that Canelo hasn’t displayed enough to suggest he can beat someone like Floyd.

Outspoken former multi-weight champion James Toney bluntly said Mayweather V Canelo is a mismatch and listed reasons why Mayweather is more experienced and stated Floyd knocks out Canelo down the stretch as the young Mexican tires.

‘Kazah KO King’ Gennady Golovkin says the fight is 50-50 because Saul has power and is strong although Floyd possesses speed.

Bob Arum the former promoter of Mayweather, although him and Floyd do not have the best relationship stated that Canelo does not have anywhere near the experience needed to beat Mayweather. Suggesting Canelo doesn’t stand much chance claiming Floyd would win by decision or achieve a late stoppage over Canelo.

Brandon Rios who meets ‘Pac-Man’ in November states Mayweather wins and his trainer Robert Garcia says Floyd has the advantage but it won’t be easy as Canelo is dangerous.

Former heavyweight and boxing coach Justin Fortune, said Floyd has too much experience and Canelo doesn’t have the depth in his boxing at this moment in time. Says the fight will be similar to Mayweather-Guerrero outcome.

Paulie Malinaggi stated that he felt Canelo was not ready for Floyd Mayweather and that at the young age of 22, a loss may ruin Alvarez as a fighter by damaging his confidence.

Danny Garcia suggested in an interview with Fight Hub TV that even though Canelo is large compared to Mayweather, Floyd would still win a unanimous decision.

Controversial character and father of Danny, Angel Garcia simply said Mayweather would win because he is gifted.

During Boxing Channel’s interview with Canelo’s last opponent Austin Trout, he didn’t give a verdict on the fight but stated that Canelo is big for Floyd and that it depends if Floyd gets old when they fight.

English boxing guru, former fighter and Coach Spencer Fearon in an interview with iFilm London strongly stated that Canelo cannot beat Floyd, stating Floyd will win by a wide points margin. Spencer goes on to say no fighter right now can beat Mayweather and he will retire undefeated.

The supposed Eire to Floyd’s throne Adrien Broner commented on the matter in an interview with ‘Tha Boxing Voice’ stating that “Floyd will crush that guy” continuing by saying Canelo has only just learnt to box and is very green.

It is evident to say the names of the sport are backing Mayweather to be victorious. But Canelo being the underdog doesn’t seem to dampen people’s sheer excitement in anticipation.
