Who’s next for Froch?

Image: Who's next for Froch?By Rusty Nate: There’s been a huge amount of coverage about the top 4 at Super Middleweights since the weekend when IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch destroyed the hopeful but out of his depth Yusaf Mack “Attack” inside 3 rounds. The talk from Froch is he wants Bute, Kessler and Ward. I would love to see these three fights happen because as a boxing fan they would be great to watch!

The bias Writers have been out in force to throw cold water on Froch’s steaming performance and point out that he would still be beaten by Ward and he fought an empty body on Saturday night etc etc

To put it bluntly….Whats people’s problem!?

Yes I am a Froch fan but I am also a Ward and Kessler fan as well. Infact I have huge respect for all the super sixers because they were willing to risk their records in order to prove they were the best!

I will be 100% honest now. I don’t think Froch needs to fight Bute, he has proved he was better the last time out and he somewhat exposed Bute as a little lacking in defense and punch resistance when put under pressure. A rematch will go much the same way and to give up the Title in order to fight a more suitable opponent would be no shame.

Kessler – This is a fight that I think should happen! Even if purely because the first fight was great to watch. I do see this as a 50/50 and could well depend on whose country its fought in as to who may edge the decision. Froch does seem to be slightly more in form than he was a couple of years ago but that could just because he has been on the road for so long in the super six that he is feeling re-energized fighting back in Nottingham.

Ward – Froch’s fighting spirit will not allow him to just walk away from a potential re match with Ward. Sadly I don’t think this will be a fight that Froch can win. I don’t believe Froch could ever out point Ward because he is simply too good of a boxer for that, which puts his chances firmly in the “one big punch” KO win catagory. Froch has good power don’t get me wrong but thinking that Ward is going to fall fowl of a random one punch KO would be like saying that Mayweather would. Its not going to happen in my eyes.

I love this division though. When the rest of the boxing world is avoiding each other and making excuses, these guys are clamoring over each other to fight one another again and again! They all seem to have an unflinching will to win and belief that they can win.

I guess what I am saying is……..Why are the pundits and writers bad mouthing any of these guys! Its looking like an amazing year ahead for the Super Middleweights! The division doesn’t have the most amount of stars in by any means but at least the ones it does have are not worried about money splits and RDT’s and where they are going to fight, THEY JUST WANT TO FIGHT!
