Aydin the better choice for Mayweather than Guerrero

If there’s a choice that needs to be made for Floyd Mayweather Jr’s next fight, he should pick Adyin rather than Guerrero because Aydin is the better fighter in terms of excitement compared to Guerrero.

Guerrero tried to come out and say he deserves a fight with Mayweather now after winning the interim WBC welterweight title tonight in San Jose, California, but I wasn’t at all impressed with Guerrero. He was grabbing and holding all night, and I felt I was watching the welterweight division’s version of Amir Khan. I don’t know what happened to Guerrero’s power, but he had none at this weight. I remember he used to be a decent – not great – puncher when he fought at featherweight, but he sure did seem to lose it in moving up in weight from lightweight to welterweight.

Since boxing is more about entertainment than records nowadays, Mayweather should tale on Adyin, if he’s at all interested in fighting Aydin or Guerrero. Of course, Mayweather isn’t going to waste his time fighting either of these guys, because there’s no upside in fighting Guerrero because he looked awful at 147, showing no power and clinching like no tomorrow. And Aydin lost the fight, so he’s not someone Mayweather will want to fight next. But if there is a choice between the two of them for a Mayweather fight, I feel that Aydin, the more exciting fighter, is the natural pick for Floyd.

Aydin is like the Marcos Maidana of the welterweight division, and he makes it exciting. He definitely needs to work on his workrate by increasing it somehow, but he clearly was the more interesting fighter to watch tonight compared to the all arms Guerrero, who did a lot of grabbing in between throwing weak punches.
