In addition to this fight, EPIX will also be televising the co-feature bout between WBA heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin and former WBC heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman.

The July 14th fight between Haye and Chisora will be shown on BoxNation in the UK, and it will take place at Upton Park in London.

This is a fight that Haye wanted because he didn’t want his loss to IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko to be his last fight of his career. Haye was beaten by Wladimir by a lopsided 12 round decision last July, and he then retired when Wladimir rejected the idea of giving him a rematch. It didn’t sit right with Haye to go out on such a bad note, so this is why he decided to come back and face Chisora. Haye also took the fight with Chisora because he thought it could lead to a bout against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko.

Haye has since learned that Vitali has no interest in facing him. As such, the Haye-Chisora fight could be Haye’s last bout of his career unless Wladimir or Vitali change their minds about wanting to fight him. There’s really no one else for Haye to fight after the Chisora bout because the top contenders and prospects don’t have a big enough name for Haye to get anything out of facing them.

Haye has already made many millions for his fights at heavyweight against John Ruiz and Wladimir. The Chisora fight will help cushion Haye’s retirement as well. Haye would obviously love to continue fighting if there was a big name for him to fight, but unfortunately the Klitschko brothers are the only big names in the division.
