This isn’t a fight that the 23-year-old Fury can just scrape by an win by a narrow margin. He has to really dominate and stop Rogan because he’s not ranked in the top 15 like Fury, and he’s also very old for a heavyweight.

Fury said to boxrec.om “He’s not going to take anything away from me because I am in the destruction mode. An army won’t stop me on the 14th of April, so Martin Rogan hasn’t got a chance. He’s getting on a it too, to be honest.”

Of course, Rogan is getting on a bit. He’s 40-years-old and that’s why Fury is taking so much heat from boxing fans about accepting this fight. This is a big backwards step for Fury from the guys he’s been facing in the past year. Fury is going from Dereck Chisora and Neven Pajkic to Rogan and that just doesn’t make sense. It does if Fury was older heavyweight just taking a warm up but he’s an up and comer and has already gotten past facing guys like Rogan a long time ago you would think. Rogan can punch a little if you stand close to him so that he can reach you with his shots, but against the 6’9″ Fury, Rogan will have a really tough. Fury could fight stupidly by letting Rogan get in close, but that’s not likely to happen. Fury has improved a lot and isn’t the same fighter that battled hard to defeat John McDermott in two tough fights in the past.

Fury will likely KO Rogan on cuts or a swollen eye. Rogan tends to swell up when he’s hit a lot and Fury will have ample opportunities to hit him all night long due to Rogan’s aggressive style of fighting and because of his lack of defensive skills.
