Image: Froch-Ward: The odds are high that Carl blows a gasket the first time he gets headbuttedBy Scott Gilfoid: I honestly don’t know why WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-1, 20 KO’s) is training so hard for his fight against WBA super middleweight chanmpion Andre Ward (24-1, 13 KO’s) on December 17th.

Froch might as well not be training at all, because I already know how this fight is going to end up and it’s going to go badly for Froch I hate to say.

With his hot temper, the first time Ward accidentally headbutts Froch or hits him with maybe elbow, I see Froch snapping mentally and going wild man on Ward with anything goes at that point. Being that this fight is in the good old United States, where the Marquess of Queensberry Rules are strictly enforced, the referee will have no other option but to disqualify and/or take points off left and right for Froch’s fouling.

I hope Froch doesn’t blow a gasket and start looking to get revenge for little headbutt, but that’s way I see it. Froch kind of reminds me of one of my younger brothers. When we were kids I used to cheat every once in awhile while we were all playing Monopoly. Instead of just laughing it off when my brother caught me, he’d get hopping mad and sweep all the pieces of the board, throw the money and board across the room. Of course, this would mean that he was immediately thrown out of the game but he’d do this every time.

I’m hoping this isn’t how Froch reacts when he’s accidentally fouled but I think he’ll lose it much in the same way and end up being his own worst enemy. Ward will just by doing nothing and just watching waiting for the smoke to clear from tantrum. Don’t get me wrong; It’s not how I want Ward to win, but you can’t toss out a win, you know? You take the wins anyway you can get them. Ward can then move on to bigger and better things against the likes of Mikkel Kessler, Andre Dirrell and Lucian Bute. As for Froch, well maybe he can deal with it, learn from it and try to keep control next time out.
