By Glenn Findlay: Then we have the convenient “retirement” excuse as & when he feels it is necessary to avoid dangerous “in their prime” opponents. A clever strategy. By using the excuse of retiring, Floyd Mayweather manages to avoid all questions of fighting boxers currently in their prime.
Remember, Floyd Snr was present in the corner when Manny put Ricky Hatton into the land of nod, was at ringside to witness the destruction of more powerfully bigger fighters such as Miguel Cotto & Margarito & is on “youtube” stating he fears for his sons life if he fought Pacquiao. He cannot believe Manny Pacquioa’s natural power, how outstanding a boxer he is, how fearsome, dangerous & how awesome he is, so we have the ludicrous suggestion of illegal drug use to justify Pacqiuoa’s legendary greatness. It is some compliment for Floyd & his family to publicly admit they cannot believe Pacquioa can be that good, without the use of illegal substances.
To believe Mayweather is “cleaning up the sport” instead of “ducking fighting Pacquioa” is stupendously immature at best, naive at worst; to believe Mayweather co-incidentally “retires” at moments in time when the most highly offensive & currently dangerous boxers were in their primes like Cotto, Margarito & now Pacquioa is again naieve. To believe the libelous accusation that God-fearing, gentleman, class act, politician & all-round humanitarian Pacquioa is on “PEDS” is not just incredibly naive; it is absolutely incredulous, especially when the accusation perspires from an unscrupulous family of drug-taking, woman-battering, child-threatening low-lifes who also claim Vietnamese soldiers injected illegal narcotics that allowed bullets to bounce off their backs in war. Step forward Uncle Roger. The man is un-hinged at best. It does not matter that Mayweathers fans think he can defeat Pacquiao; Mayweather himself does not believe it. The man is a coward, a fraud…a sham & anyone who now follows this guy or endeavors to finance his PPV fights has a morale duty to look themselves in the mirror & ask why are they contributing to the death of our generational super-fight & alongside that; the potential long-term death of boxing as a prime sport. In what other sport would the best not take on the best for fear of losing like Floyd Mayweather?

There you have it; the most concise & clear “calling out” you’ll ever hear. Let’s get this clear…Manny Pacquioa is recognized in boxing as the P4P King. It should be Mayweather doing the “calling out”, not Pacquioa. Mayweather should be desperate to put Pacquioa in his place, to step up to the plate & claim the “P4P” title, to show he is the greatest in a time where the boxing world publicly acknowledges Pacquiao reigns supreme. Let’s all be honest; people like Mayweather don’t care for the fans deep down; like he’s already stated….the fans don’t pay his bills, the fans don’t put his children through school. This man doesn’t even care to be the greatest he can be. All he’s interested in is “money “& the zero losses that will protect his own “precious ego” until the day he dies. He can then proclaim no-body could beat him in his prime; yet the one boxer alive who could dismantle him is avoided at all costs & by all means necessary.
These zero losses protects his mentally fragile world; defeat by Manny Pacquiao would shatter this illusion & send him more off-the-rails than he currently is. $100 million couldn’t even tempt the guy. With ego-tistical maniacs like Floyd Mayweather; sometimes all the money on Gods given earth isn’t worth the loss of ego to defeat by the peoples champion. It would destroy Floyd in his over-inflated little world. I would go so far as to state his whole career is a sham & pretty much irrelevant unless he fights Manny Pacquiao. If you are not prepared to fight the best of your generation; then your career & legacy has to be forever tarnished; his fans will forever believe his excuses when in reality; they are utterly deluded & following a coward of the ring. There is no place for cowards in the sport of Gods. Boxing needs this fight; the fans demand it, Pacquiao wants it but Floyd Mayweather is restricting it with multi-angled deflective attacks outside the ring as effective as Pacquiao’s boxing prowess attacks inside it. Now is the time for no more demands; no more libelous smears, no more retirements, no more excuses. Fight or permanently retire.
Judging by Mayweathers meltdowns; Manny Pacquioa has already defeated Floyd Mayweather outside of the ring. He would destroy him inside it….& the Mayweather family knows this. That is the brutal truth, that is why this fight will never enter the history books & to all those who have fallen for Floyds deceitful fabrications…please for the sake of boxing; quit being so juvenile & quit being so naive. Floyd Mayweather, the boxer….R.I.P.

Hundreds of fights happened in the U.S,within the first quarter of 2011 alone,they do have a test. RBT is not necessary to make a fight. If thats Floyd goal to clean up the sport of boxing he should lobby for it to the commission and it should be ACROSS THE BOARD and not just for the fight that he is in. He really looks bad doing that,needless to say the word that most Pacquiao fans likes to call on Floyd.
And another thing why the resistance to the thought of better drug testing for these fighters. With all of the illegal substance scandals in the sporting world today this man should be lauded as a hero, oh but it’s floyd so we can’t listen to him. Here’s a question after the Mosley incident did boxing change it’s testing practices? have they done anything different since hell Trinidad? There inability to admit that there may be a possibility,of a problem is disconcerting. The unwillingness to update these old test, to update the banned substance list to basically stay in the loop about these issues is a true travesty. Like the ref says protect yourself at all times literally because these Athletics commissions won’t.

Floyd demanded 100 million 1st. then he was supposedly offered 50 million, you never know what’s true and what’s not true because Floyd never comes public like Top Rank/ Bob Arum. Quick point, like I said earlier they just tryna offer Floyd anything kuz they wanna take away from the fact that Manny won’t take that test. Nevertheless, when Floyd fought Oscar. Oscar got a guaranteed 52 million (Fact) that’s before PPV buys bro. Floyd got 20.5 (FACT). So if you throw in the PPV buys just add 20 or 25 million to what Oscar got. But the fight overall with the gate, they grossed over 300 million (FACT)! So with that being said based on number, estimated Floyd vs. Manny will easily do 400 to 500 million. The fighters deserve the big bucks there putting there lives on the line. Now here’s where the issues start, Bob Arum is already worried that if Floyd gets 100 million. Then how much is he gonna get of what’s left! Thats the biggest issue, that crook gets 38% of what Manny makes and then Golden Boy has rights to Manny also (Manny’s Stupid). So concluding, Floyd isn’t actually asking for to much; people just dont know the in’s and out’s of how much those mega fights make. Floyd does kuz he know’s both sides of being a boxer which he was under Bob Arum, and now being the BOSS of himself. Just check the total grossing numbers on the Floyd and Oscar fight and you’ll see what I mean. Floyd is not asking for to much by wanting a guaranteed 100 million… He’s gonna win anyway! Probably by knockout! (PREMONITION!!!)

Just think what Zab Judah did to Floyd Mayweather and then multiple that by 100. That gives you what Pacquiao would do to Mayweather. Floyd needs to go back to Wrestlemania or Dancing With The Stars. He’s not a fighter anymore. He’s a clown. He needs to juggle balls, and put on the red nose, as he dances in the ring against a non-existent opponent. He got rocked by Shane Mosley, realized what that kind of shot by Pacquiao would’ve done to him, and how he’s come up with excuses not to fight him–even to the point of him assaulting his wife to duck punishment against a real man.
After Manny Pacquiao makes Shane Mosley quit on his stool, Mayweather has no excuses left. Now, he’s looking at Victor Ortiz or anyone else as long as he’s not named Pacquiao. If the guy steps in, fights Pacquiao, takes care of business, he’s a great fighter. If he fights Pacquiao and loses, at least he showed the ‘nads to fight him. If he continues to duck and hold and grab and make excuses as he has done his entire year, there needs to be an asterisk next to his record.
Kind a fraudless article, both Pacman and Floyd fought champions in different weight categories and fought these champions in good fights.
Both have qualities and syles. Everyone wants to see them fight but is all buisiness.
To say that Pacman always thinks of what his fans want is also not completely true because Arum chooses his fights for him. Everyone wants to see Pacman vs Marquez part 3, but why doesn’t it happen?
Pacman fought Hatton, Cotto and others when their prime was over and they had already lost on ko.
Also Mayweather fought Mosely after his prime and de la Hoya.
So people have to be honest.
Both Floyd and Pacman never wanted to fight Williams in his prime and some others fighters. Martinez did and he fights every opponent!

Referring to your post about Manny working out the puzzle that is Floyd Mayweathers defense, Floyd Mayweather is only as good defensively as his opposition, to start with Floyds shoulder roll will not be effective against Paquiao (southpaw). Mayweather is very hittable himself, if Paquiao hurts Mayweather like Demarcus Corley, Shane Mosley did the fight will be over real quick, you are obviously not as knowledgable as i first thought.

JMM was HANDPICKED by Floyd because Floyd wanted to prove something to the American public regarding the comparisons to Pac. It’s no coincidence that Pac and Floyd BOTH fought each other’s common opponent – DLH and JMM. The problem is that Floyd did not fight JMM at JMM’s comfortable weight just as Pac didn’t fight DLH at DLH’s best weight. But Pac surely beat DLH much better than Floyd beat JMM. And if JMM truly wanted to be a WW, then how come he hasn’t fought at 140 or 147 since.

@Glen; I was raised watching Boxing and I was taught how to fight by Tommy Gallagher at the Boys club in Richmond Hill queens NY. The very same Club Tyson donated equipment too, right after crashing his car into a tree. At the gym was Junior Jones and a host of other Boxers. Gallaghers gym moved to 101 ave and 114 St in Rjchmknd hill,plus Vito Antuefermo owned a Pizza shop right down the block. My close friend is Chris Smith and I go to fights as often as I can. I admire all fighters!!

pac’s only been in 2 catchweights: cotto and margarito, neither of them cited being weight drained as the issue for their loss. ODLH was to be at 147, an actual weight class, and ODLH showed up 2 lbs underweight, but it wasn’t pac that made him do it. ODLH was the one who challenged him. btw, catchweights have been used by many of the greats! including leonard and hearns. and look at the established weight classes, the specified weight is a LIMIT!! it’s not a requirement to come in at exactly that weight, but you can’t come in over! catchweights are AGREED upon by BOTH parties before the fight. catchweights have been around for almost as long as boxing has. it’s so funny that the only people complaining or criticizing pac for the catchweights are only the detractors and not the actual opponents. pac haters just seem to be grasping at anything to try to discredit him

As much as I try to avoid bashing Floyd fans, I tend to agree with Dizzle that most of Floyd’s fans are less educated. FYI, the RBT can not be an issue anymore because it is a court case that has merit. Floyd decided to retire hoping that he will win and again open the RBT but it won’t happen because chances are he will pay an enormous amount of money to settle it out of court. As stupid as he is for not fighting, therefore no income, he will be doing time if Pac decided not to settle out of cold. Floyd needs the money and asked for 100M. I believe Floyd and Manny both started fighting at 107. They’ve both reach 150 to which Manny said enough so he’ll stay at 147 – his comfortable division. So basically, there’s no difference (or odd) between them in as far as fighting in different division is concern.
I don’t post as much as I could, but it has always been my position that to make this fight possible, I’d like the NSAC change their testing procedure to that of what floyd wants – for ALL BOXER. After all Manny said if NSAC say RBT, then RBT it is.
I also said that perhaps we fans could force NSAC to change testing procedure. What can you say? I guess you in the USA are in better position to that.

I think he said for religious reasons but he’s not a morman and I’m a Christian so I know there is nothing that stops you from that. The notion that Pacquiao uses steriods…why hasnt anyone surfaced saying they sold him steriods or they injected him or they saw him use steriods? The Mayweather camp point to the many weight classes Pacquiao has fought in as proof that he is on steriods. Floyd Jr court case for the misdemeanor battery charge is due on April 25. I would not be surprise if this case is adjouned again (twice already) to give Floyd Jr an excuse for not having an interest on Pacquiao after May 7. Another court case with the security guard, defamation case and the IRS tax debt, who can’t blame Floyd Jr for making an effort to avoid the PACMAN. He got his reasons (excuses???).
