Deontay: Ready when you are, Stiverne!!

deontay4444By Scott Gilfoid: Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya has agreed with WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne’s promoter Don King to a financial deal for fight between the Golden Boy promoted Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32 KOs) and Stiverne, according to Dan Rafael of ESPN. What De La Hoya doesn’t have yet is a date and a venue for the fight, and that’s why he opted not to sign the contract. Until those areas are filled in by King, De La Hoya won’t give a green light to the fight.

They’ve already had two postponements for purse bids, and it’s unclear whether they’re going to need to have another. However, if they don’t make a deal soon then it’s likely that WBC president Mauricio Suliaman won’t give permission for a third postponement.

Deontay Wilder ready to destroy Bermane Stiverne in one round KO

deontay55By Scott Gilfoid: Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) is ready to face WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KO’s) once Stiverne’s promoter Don King contacts Deontay’s manager Al Haymon to start setting up the fight. Deontay likes the fight and he sees himself knocking Stiverne out in the 1st round like he’s done with 18 of his previous 31 opponents. It’s incredible to even think about. A fighter with 18 knockouts in the 1st round and with 31 consecutive knockouts on their resume.

Wilder, 28, is the WBC mandatory challenger to Stiverne’s title after obliterating Malik Scott in 1 round. The WBC already said that Stiverne must fight Deontay next and he can’t take a unification fight or an optional title defense.
