Does Manny need to leave Top Rank for the Mayweather fight to happen?

pac7848By Juan dela Cruz: The latest demand made by Floyd Mayweather Jnr for the Pacquiao fight to happen is that Manny should leave Top Rank because, according to Floyd, he doesn’t want to do business with Arum. With this, is the fight finally going to happen? Will Floyd finally face Pacquiao if and when Manny leave Top Rank? After several demands were met, will this be the last to be made by Floyd? Historically speaking, this won’t happen.

I have already lost track of demands and excuses made by Floyd just to avoid Manny. The last as we all know is Floyd’s pressure for Manny to leave Bob Arum’s promotional company. Even Floyd fans believe Manny need not leave Top Rank for the fight to come into fruition. All it need is for Floyd to stop making excuses and demands after demands. For sure, Floyd will again make excuses and other demands if and when his last one is met by Pacquiao.

Mayweather Jr. shoots down bogus Pacquiao fight news

mayweather434By Chris Williams: A silly rumor spread around the internet last night about Floyd Mayweather Jr. supposedly agreeing to fight Manny Pacquiao on September. The fact that the rumor started at a general world news site (read: non-boxing site) should tell you all you needed to know about the validity of the silly rumor. The rumor has now been denied by both Floyd himself and Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz.

“All the stories you hear about Pacquiao is a lie,” Mayweather said to Fighthype.

Espinoza: Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight not likely to happen until Pacquiao changes promotional companies

pac675By Chris Williams: For a big mega fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. to happen, Pacquiao may need to change promoter, says Showtime President of Sports Stephen Espinoza. Under the current situation, Espinoza doesn’t see the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight taking place with Pacquiao being promoted by Bob Arum of Top Rank. If Pacquiao wants the fight with Mayweather, or have the chance for the fight to take place, he’s going to need to not automatically re-sign with Arum when his contract is up with Top Rank in 2014.

Asking Pacquiao to not re-sign with Top Rank might be expecting too much from the Filipino, because he’s been loyal to Arum and Top Rank all these years, and it’s hard to see him turning his back on them just because he could arguably make a ton of money against the likes of Mayweather, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Amir Khan, Adrien Broner and Danny Garcia.

Mayweather must fight Pacquiao!

The issue is no longer between Pacquiao and Mayweather or between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions. It has come to a point that the “unbeaten” boxer has to contend with the entire boxing world excluding puppets.

There’s not much problem with a boxer avoiding another boxer. But for a boxer to belittle the boxer he avoids and fears, malign and mock him with a litany of unfounded accusations, and then proclaims himself to be the best on the planet, it is the height of irony and delusion combined for any fans, aficionados and media to continue believing and supporting such a boxer.

Nothing is more defined than this: Boxing will have to ever say NO to Amir Khan, Marcos Maidana, Devon Alexander, Danny Garcia or any other Mayweather “solid guys” as future opponents for Mayweather until the fight with the eight-division champion “not on his level” is made first. Floyd’s latest vulgarity using social media proves one thing: He defies and challenges YOU, the people.

Why hasn’t Pacquiao responded to Mayweather?

pac#5 - CopyBy Mr. Pennington: Over the past few days Floyd Mayweather Jr. has gone out of his way to publically humiliate Manny Pacquiao sending Christmas cards and posting pictures on twitter. While I found both humorous, this is Mayweather in my eyes attempting to put pressure on Pacquiao’s camp to fight.

Both fighters need an opponent for their upcoming fights, it seems that Mayweather is giving Pacquiao’s camp the leverage to take the issue public thus making the fight even more desirable. But as of the moment Pacquiao has yet to grab the rope and contribute to the snowball effect this type of social back forth can have.

Do fans blame Mayweather for Pacquiao-Mayweather fight not happening?

floyd#20By Juan dela Cruz: Many of the boxing fans are now blaming Floyd Mayweather Jr. for the biggest fight not happening. Even some boxing scribes held Floyd responsible for the failed fight and even commented on Floyd’s legacy. Dan Rafael of ESPN posted this on his twitter account :

“Floyd is rich but one thing he can never buy is a legacy that includes beating a prime Manny Pacquiao. He can never buy that. Ever.” Even Mike Tyson in an interview by Max Kellerman of ESPN’s Sports Nation revealed that among all the current fighters in boxing, he enjoys watching Manny Pacquiao the most. In a recent poll (not on this site), 79% of the fans point the finger at Mayweather when asked “Who do You blame for Pacquiao – Mayweather Not Happening?”

Mayweather Jr. says Pacquiao fight won’t happen

floyd#261By Juan dela Cruz: As already known to all boxing fans in the world, Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight won’t happen, and this was confirmed by no less than Floyd himself. In a recent interview with Fight Hype, Mayweather insisted that a fight with Manny Pacquiao won’t happen soon because Pacquiao is with Top Rank and that he has no intentions of doing business with Bob Arum. Another reason that Floyd gave for the fans to forget about the fight is Pacman’s PPV numbers, and that Pac only wanted to fight him just because of Manny’s problems with the IRS.

Well, here he goes again. Even Floyd’s fans knew that these were just smokescreen to avoid the Pacman. Notably, the issues raised here by Floyd were recycled, except for the last one which is about Pac’s supposed problem with the IRS.

Is Pacquiao-Mayweather fight still possible

The coming year is ideal for the fight to happen, should it ever get to be made. If not 2014, then count everything nice hereunder to be profound poetry or plain satire. Don’t get him wrong. The American top dog is ready to face his biggest challenge anytime soon though he seems to be currently using the PPV numbers comparison as an excuse to avoid a persistent public outcry for him to face the Filipino icon.

Pacquiao-Mayweather, Jr., Fight: Is It A Biggest Lie in Boxing History?

floyd#900By Alon Calinao Dy: American boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr., (26 knockouts, 0 defeat, 19 decisions) and Filipino congressman Manny Pacquiao (38 knockouts, 5 losses, 17 decisions), both fighters are the biggest names in the sweet science today. If ever these two boxing legends meet in the ring, this is the most popular, exciting and intriguing dream match in the history of boxing.

Sooner or later, the talks about the mega fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Manny Pacquiao will be over. We won’t see these legendary boxers face each other as time goes by. It’s all talk and I can’t believe everything I read or hear on the Internet, unless I see it with my own eyes that the deal has been sealed.

Pacquiao hoping to meet with Mayweather in U.S to discuss fight

pac773By Chris Williams: If your promoter can’t get you the fight you want then I guess it doesn’t hurt for Manny Pacquiao to make the effort himself to land his big dream fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2014. Pacquiao is apparently going to be flying to the U.S. for a visit and while there he wants to meet with boxing’s biggest start Mayweather to discuss a fight between them. It’s unknown if Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum or his adviser Michael Koncz suggested that he make this move, but it’s worth a try.

We recently heard Arum say he’s waiting for Mayweather’s people to call him instead of him calling them. If that’s the situation Pacquiao has to deal with then he might as well be the guy that does the heavy lifting to try and make the fight happen.
