By Dave Lahr: In looking over WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko’s resume, I noticed that he’s never faced a top undefeated fighter before during his long 13 year pro boxing career. The closest thing that Klitschko has gotten to facing a top undefeated fighter is Timo Hoffmann who was 22-0 at the time that Vitali fought him in nine years ago in November 2000.

By Jason Kim:At Thursday’s weigh-in, heavyweight challenger Chris Arreola (27-0, 24 KO’s) came in at 251 for Saturday’s bout against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (37-2, 36 KO’s) at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, California. Klitschko, 38, weighed in at a firm looking 252, a normal weight for him. The big 6′” Ukrainian, always in tip top shape, has weighed roughly the same weight for the past nine years dating back to 2000. Arreola came in at slightly less than he’s weighed in his last three bouts.

LIVE, WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko sounded confident as he prepares to defend his title for the second time against challenger Chris Arreola at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles. Klitschko, 38, took a low key approach to the interview, treating Arreola with respect. Klitschko will be facing an opponent with power on par with his own. What Arreola doesn’t have the height and reach that the 6’7″ Klitschko has going for him in this fight. That alone will be a problem for Arreola to deal with in this fight.
