Although this hasn’t been officially confirmed as of yet, it’s looking that’s what the case may. We have various reports that Khan will go after Malignaggi instead. This is really sad if Khan doesn’t fight Maidana. I had a feeling that this was going to happen.

Khan was supposed to be facing WBA light welterweight interim champion Marcos Maidana in the next few months. This would be bad news for fans that were hoping to see Khan face Maidana.

Roach sees Khan-Malignaggi as a feasible next fight

khan4535432By Scott Gilfoid: According to an article from Rick Reeno from Boxing Scene, trainer Freddie Roach seems interested in a fight between World Boxing Association light welterweight champion Amir Khan and former IBF light welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (27-3, 5 KO’s) in March. In the article Roach says this about a potential Khan-Malignaggi bout: “That’s definitely a viable fight. It’s something I would definitely welcome. I like Paulie. It’s a big fight.” This news might not be be well received by some Khan detractors, who would see this as another case of Khan taking on another light-hitting fighter.

Paulie Malignaggi and Amir Khan: Possible one for the future?

khan3544545By Shaun Campbell: Paulie “Magic Man” Malignaggi will not be getting another shot at Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz. Diaz has reportedly rejected the offer from Malignaggi for a rematch. Many still feel that Paulie was robbed that night in Houston, and the reality is that there should be a rematch. It’s debatable who won, but the general feeling is Paulie won it by about 2 rounds. Having said that, to Malignaggi’s disgust, the “baby bull” has said that there will not be a rematch.
