By Scott Gilfoid: It looks like former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye can finally retire because WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41 KO’s) says Haye had his chance to fight him and he failed to take it. Vitali is moving on.

Speaking with boxingnews.ua, Vitali said “David Haye was able to fight me on 10 September 2012 in Moscow. He was sent to all contracts. The Briton only had to sign them. David refused. The David Haye train has left.”

Well, there it is. That’s the news that Haye needed to finally retire from boxing because Vitali is saying Haye had his chance to take the fight and failed to sign the contract.

By Scott Gilfoid: Showing signs of getting ever more desperate for a fight against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye has reportedly chosen to send a message to the Ukrainian newspaper Vzglyad in an effort to pressure Vitali to fight him by trying to create a huge public demand for the fight in Vitali’s native Ukraine.

According to thesun.co.uk, Haye said “This position [of WBC heavyweight champion] carries the obligation to fight strong contenders who the public identify. That person is now me. You the Ukrainian sports fans know it, I know it, and Vitali knows it. You can help make this happen. Tell Vitali to stand up and represent his people, fight me and honor the wishes of the Ukrainian.“

By Scott Gilfoid: Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye has reportedly re-applied for his boxing license with the BBBofC [British Boxing Board of Control], and it looks like he’ll get his license once he’s been interviewed. It might be all for nothing for Haye, though, because the fight that he really wants to get against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko probably won’t happen.

Vitali, 41, could end up retiring instead of continuing his career. It’s no secret that Vitali wants to spend more time on his political career in Ukraine, and he’s already independently wealthy to where he no longer needs to compete.

I just wonder what Haye will do if Vitali chooses to retire rather than sticking around to fight him. Will Haye retire as well? He’s been talking about that a lot but somehow it’s hard to take him serious anymore because he already retired once and now he’s back.

By Scott Gilfoid: David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) wants to land a fight with WBC heavyweight Vitali Klitschko by the summer and he thinks he can become the first fighter that has ever beaten Vitali without an injury. Vitali did lose to Lennox Lewis and Chris Byrd on injury stoppage, but it wasn’t an actual knockout. Haye thinks he’s the guy that KO Vitali if given the chance.

It’s nice to wish I guess, but Haye needs to move on. He’s not getting a fight with Vitali in the summer, winter or fall. Haye needs to decide whether he wants to retire or fight someone else other than Vitali. There’s nothing wrong with Haye picking out a couple of Brits like David Price and Tyson Fury to fight. Those guys would likely fight him on Saturday if he asked them today, because they feel they can beat him, and obviously the big payday that they’d get for a Haye fight doesn’t hurt.

McKenna (McJack): Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) has had his heart set on fighting WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41 KO’s) since he came out of a temporary retirement. The “Hayemaker” retired in October 2011 upon reaching his 31st birthday. He left the door open for a possible return to the ring, but only if his opponent was one of the Klitschko’s.

Having already decisively defeated Haye in July 2011, WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO and Ring heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (58-3, 51 KO’s) stated that he has no interest in giving him a return bout.

By Eric Thomas: Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) is still waiting to see what WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41 KO’s) will do next – retire or continue to fight. Haye badly wants to fight Vitali because Haye came back specifically from his retirement to get a fight with the 41-year-year-old Vitali.

Haye took a fight with Dereck Chisora last July thinking it would get him a fight with Vitali. Instead, the victory did nothing to budge Vitali into accepting a fight with him. That hasn’t stopped Haye from continuing to try and goad the big 6’7″ Vitali into fighting him by frequently making comments in the media about how easily it will be to defeat him.

By Allan Fox: Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye wants no part of fighting WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in Ukraine. It’s not that Haye doesn’t want the fight, because he definitely wants an opportunity to fight Vitali before he hangs up his gloves in the not too distant future. What the soon to be 32-year-old Haye is afraid of is getting beaten up by Ukrainian racists who might take issue with Haye because he’s part black.

Haye told the Sport Bild “I’ve never been to Ukraine, but I have heard it’s very dangerous for a black man. There are crazy racists who have already sent me death threats. So Germany would be the best and safest place for me to beat vitali and get out of the stadium alive.”

By William Mackay: Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye wants to try and convince WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko that he’d be making the right move in choosing to fight him next because of the huge publicity a fight between the two would generate. Haye believe a Haye-Vitali fight would be the second biggest fight in the sport behind Manny Pacquiao – Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Haye said to Sky Sports News “Jose Suliaman understood that I’m the biggest fight out there for Vitali Klitschko. He’d welcome me to challenge Vitali for the WBC title. That’s the fight the world wants to see and he knows it. Vitali knows that. Other than Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. fighting, the next biggest fight out the planet is me vs. Vitali Klitschko. We would generate more money than any other heavyweight contest. It would fill any soccer stadium anywhere in the world.”
