golovkin64By Allan Fox: Former two division world champion Ricardo Mayorga (31-8-1, 25 KOs) says if IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) wants a job, he can work as his sparring partner to help him get ready for his fight against former three division world champion Shane Mosley (47-9-1, 39 KOs) on August 29th on pay-per-view from The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Mayorga says he doesn’t know who Golovkin is, and wasn’t aware of what weight class he fights in until he was told by the interviewer.

Golovkin vs. Lemieux isn’t pay-per-view worthy, says Kenny Porter

golovkinBy Dan Ambrose: Kenny Porter, the trainer/father for former IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter, doesn’t see the October 17th unification clash between WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) and IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) as a truly pay-per-view worthy fight in his opinion.

While Kenny does believe that it’s a decent scrap for Golovkin, he doesn’t recognize it as a PPV fight due to Lemieux’s flimsy record right now. Kenny notes that Lemieux hasn’t fought very many top names since turning pro, and he lost to a fighter with 10 defeats in the past in Marco Antonio Rubio four years ago in 2011.

Lemieux might only go 2 or 3 rounds against Golovkin, says Mosley

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtXnB_P0dP0&feature=youtu.be

By Dan Ambrose: Sugar Shane Mosley doesn’t expect IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) to last more than 2 or 3 rounds tops in his unification fight against WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) in their fight on October 17th on HBO pay-per-view from Madison Square Garden in New York.

Mosley is well familiar with Golovkin and what he’s capable of doing in the ring. However, Mosley isn’t completely ruling out a victory for the 26-year-old Lemieux if he gets lucky and lands a big shots, but he still sees Golovkin winning the fight with ease.

Golovkin vs. Lemieux ticket information

golovkin7356By Allan Fox: Tickets for the October 17th unification fight between WBA middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) and IBF 160lb champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) go on sale next week on August 12th for their October 17th fight on HBO pay-per-view from Madison Square Garden in New York. This is one of the better fights in the middleweight division, as both guys have huge punching power and can end it with a single shot.

The tickets are economically priced at $500, $300, $200, $100 and $50. Compared to the costly tickets that we saw in the Fight of the Century between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao last May, these tickets are a steal. The Golovkin-Lemieux fight promises to be a lot more interesting fight than the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight as well.

Golovkin gets his first big name opponent on October 17th

golovkin101By Jim Dower: After fighting mostly B and C level opponents since he turned pro over a decade ago, WBA middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) will be facing his first A-level fighter on October 17th when he faces IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) on HBO pay-per-view at Madison Square Garden in New York.

It’s hard to say that the 26-year-old Lemieux is an A-level guy considering how flawed he is as a fighter, and the fact that he was beaten twice in the last by Joachim Alcine and Marco Antonio Rubio. But a fighter like Lemieux is what amounts to an A-level guy in this day and age in the 160lb division.

Lemieux: I’m confident I’ll be victorious over Golovkin

lemieux665By Dan Ambrose: IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) will be an underdog when he enters the ring on October 17th against WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) in their unification fight on HBO pay-per-view from Madison Square Garden in New York.

Lemieux, 26, doesn’t care that he’s the underdog, because he feels very confident that he’s going to be victorious in this fight. Lemieux sees himself as becoming the new most feared fighter in the middleweight division after he gets through with handing Golovkin his first loss of his career.
