Everything was fine for a while when Joshua, 25, was focusing on talking about his fight against Gary Cornish (21-0, 12 KOs), but then things turned bad when Joshua switched lanes and started trashing Whyte.

Whyte, 27, sees Joshua as a fake type of a person, who he feels is pretentious.
Whyte just does not care for the 6’6” Joshua. None of this matters though because they don’t have to like each other. The two of them will be squaring off in three months from now, and then they can move on after that fight. Whyte already whipped Joshua six years ago in beating him in the amateur ranks.

Cornish, 28, and his team must see something in the heavily muscled Joshua’s fighting style that he believes he can take advantage of for him to out-box him and score a knockout. I don’t see anything in Cornish’s own game that would suggest that he’ll be able to win this fight, but who knows?

Joshua, 25, likes the idea of blowing out the big 6’7” in the first minute in front of the big crowd supporters. Of Joshua’s 13 knockouts on his resume, he has 4 knockouts in the 1st round. None of the 6’6” Joshua’s opponents have made it past the 3rd round in his last five fights.

The always tough Minto is a replacement for 40-year-old Dominic Guinn, who recently had to pull out of the fight with the hard hitting Whyte last week.

For most boxing fans, this fight is perceived as a dreadful mismatch, as Cornish is just a slow lumbering heavyweight without hand speed, punching power or defensive skills. He’s just a big guy who has been fed a lot of weak opposition since he turned pro in 2011.

Joshua wants to win that strap, and then the British title in December against the talented unbeaten Dillian Whyte (15-0, 12 Kos), and then possibly go after the European heavyweight title currently held by undefeated Erkan Teper (15-0, 10 KOs) before moving forward to try and challenge for a world title against the likes of WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (34-0, 33 KOs) or IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO champ Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs).

In other words, Joshua isn’t worried at all about fighting the hard hitting Whyte, even though he batted Joshua around the ring when the two of them fought each other six years ago. Joshua says he’s not even bothered if he loses the fight to Whyte.
Joshua chocks the loss up to Whyte being more experienced at the time than he was. However, Joshua doesn’t appear to have improved as a fighter in all of those years, so it’s hard to see how anything will be different the second time around.
