Hatton Should Stick to Fighting Domestic Opponents

hat432332By Scott Gilfoid: I’ve figured out the perfect way that Ricky Hatton can prolong his career and prevent being knocked around by anymore of his opponents and that’s by focusing on fighting only in the UK from here on out against mainly British fighters. There’s no point in Hatton, 30, risking bodily harm in fighting world class athletes anymore, and to be honest, I don’t think he has the ability to beat too many of them unless he cherry picks the perfect opponent without any power.

Would Hatton Have a Better Chance at Lightweight?

hat348243By Sean McDaniel: In looking over the light welterweight and welterweight divisions, I see far too many quality fighters for Ricky Hatton to find much success against unless he pretty much cherry picks his way through them. It’s like a mind field for the 30-year-old Hatton, because there are so many good fighters with either a lot of power or slick boxing skills and fast hands.

Hatton Has No Shortage of Opponents for Comeback Bout

By William Mackay: When Ricky Hatton does finally decide to make his comeback there’s no shortage of potential opponents that Hatton can fight. The bad part is that few of them are hugely popular fighters outside of their home cities. Juan Diaz, the former lightweight champion, is a case in point. He’s hugely popular in Texas, but much less so around the rest of the U.S.

Hatton: ”I Will Give it Another Go” – news

hatton543476By Liam Santiago: Boxing legend and warrior, Ricky Hatton has hit back at critics urging him to hang up his gloves by stating he will give boxing ‘another go’. Music to my ears. I would hate to see Hatton retire, knowing he still has something left to offer the sport. What sort of champion walks away because he lost?

Is Hatton Shot or Is He Just Not That Good

hatton4524356By Scott Gilfoid: In the matter of months, Ricky Hatton has gone from being considered as the best fighter in the light welterweight division to a fighter that is considered by many to be shot or at the very least overrated. What gets me is that boxing fans are ready to throw out a label like “shot” based on two defeats – Hatton’s losses to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.

News – DeGale to Spar with Mayweather Jr.

By Scott Gilfoid: 2008 British Olympic Gold Medalist James DeGale (3-0, 2 KO’s) is reportedly excited about being able to spar with Floyd Mayweather Jr. DeGale will be sparring with Mayweather in Las Vegas as Floyd prepares for his September 19th fight against Juan Manuel Marquez. First of all, I think Mayweather is making a huge mistake of having DeGale as one of his sparring partner.

Hatton Looks Fat and Badly Out of Shape

hatton432443By Scott Gilfoid: In yesterday’s meeting with Muhammad Ali in Manchester, former light welterweight and welterweight champion Ricky Hatton looked badly out of shape, appearing to weigh in the neighborhood of 170 to 190 pounds. That may not sound like a lot of weight for some boxing fans, but for Hatton, who fights at 140, that’s a lot of weight.

What’s Hatton Waiting for?

hatton34535228By Chris Williams: If you’re like a lot of boxing fans, you’re wondering what is taking Ricky Hatton so long to make a decision about his career. It seems pretty cut and dried to me. He either wants to retire and walk away from countless millions or he decides to keep fighting and make big bucks in doing so. Whatever the case, Hatton needs to make a decision soon if he plans on making a lot of money in the sport.
