By Chris Williams: WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KO’s) may have defeated Devon Alexander last Saturday night to capture Alexander’s WBC strap, but Bradley only proved that he’s better than the twenty-three year old Alexander and not better than WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan or the other top contenders in the light welterweight division.
Bradley vs. Alexander
Arum thinks Bradley could beat Khan – Boxing News
By Michael Lieberman: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum was apparently one of the few people that were impressed with WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley’s win over WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-1, 13 KO’s) last Saturday night. Arum was so impressed with Bradley that he thinks Bradley has enough talent to beat WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s).
Bradley wants Pacquiao bout, will have to face Khan first to prove he deserves it
By Dan Ambrose: WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KO’s) earned a 10 round technical decision win over WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-1, 13 KO’s) last Saturday night in an excruciatingly boring fight to watch at the Silverdome, in Pontiac, Michigan. Alexander looked like he quit on the fight after a clash of heads. It didn’t matter whether he officially quit or was really hurt, he was going to lose the fight anyway and looked totally confused and clueless what to do in there.
Khan wants to fight Bradley in England, possibly in September – Boxing News
By William Mackay: WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) saw WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley’s win over WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-1, 13 KO’s) on Saturday night, and said that he wants to fight Bradley in England, before September 10th. Khan said he needs to get his April 16th tune-up fight out of the way and then, depending on the rematch clause that Alexander had, would like to fight Bradley later on in the year.
Bradley defeats Alexander, next up Khan bout!
By William Mackay: WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 Ko’s) unified the titles tonight in beating WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-1, 13 KO’s) by a 10 round technical decision on Saturday night in this important battle for bragging rights for the best fighter in the light welterweight division. Alexander took a hard headbutt in the 10th and couldn’t continue fighting. The head clash wasn’t intentional and just happened due to both fighters leaning when they came close together.
How Great are Bradley & Alexander?
By Shaun Campbell: Tonight sees the highly anticipated light-welterweight showdown between Timothy Bradley and Devon Alexander for the WBC/WBO titles. Other than a possible show down with Amir Khan, this is the biggest fight available in the division at this time.
Bradley-Alexander: “The winner of this fight will be a superstar,” says Bradley
By William Mackay: Photo by David Martin Warr – The two best light welterweights in the division go at on Saturday when WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (26-0, 11 KO’s) faces unbeaten WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-0, 13 KO’s) in a 12 round bout at the Silverdome, in Pontiac, Michigan. Bradley, 27, sees the winner of this fight creating a super star in the sport, saying “The winner of this fight will be a superstar, a new face in boxing.” I wouldn’t go that far. I think the winner of the Bradley-Alexander fight will be a lot popular than they were before, but I wouldn’t call the fighter a superstar.
Bradley says he’s going to expose Alexander’s flaws on Saturday night
By Jason Kim: Unbeaten WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (26-0, 11 KO’s) faces WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-0, 13 KO’s) this Saturday night in a unification bout at the Silverdome, in Pontiac, Michigan. The winner of this fight will pretty much be considered the best fighter in the light welterweight division.
Bradley will beat Alexander to get to Khan
By Eric Thomas: WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-0, 13 KO’s) is coming into the January 29th bout against WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (26-0, 11 KO’s) licking his wounds from his disappointing performance against Andry Koteknik in August of last year. Alexander may have got the win and put the performance behind him, but there’s no escaping the fact Alexander was pounded on in that fight and exposed on many levels by Kotelnik.
Bradley-Alexander bout will settle who the best fighter is in the light welterweight division, Khan isn’t needed
By Dan Ambrose: While some boxing fans may disagree, I feel that the winner of the January 29th fight between WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-0, 13 KO’s) and WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (26-0, 11 KO’s) will effectively be deciding who the best fighter is in the light welterweight division. Bradley and Alexander are fighting on a higher level than the other fighters in the division, and there’s hardly any reason to consider guys like Victor Ortiz, Zab Judah, Amir Khan, Marcos Maidana, Kaizer Mabuza or Lucas Matthysse as being good enough to beat either Bradley or Alexander.
