By Scott Gilfoid: Well, what else is new? In an interview with the TimesOnline, Joe Calzaghe said that he felt that Chad Dawson was “on his way up,” explaining why reasoning for not fighting him. I wonder what his reasoning was for fighting a washed up 40-year-old Roy Jones Jr. If Dawson, who is the best light heavyweight in the division, isn’t ready to take on Calzaghe, then pray tell how is a faded Jones more ready than Dawson? Jones was easily defeated twice by Antonio Tarver in the past four years, while Dawson recently blanked Tarver in an embarrassingly one-sided fight.

Why Does Roach Want Pacquiao To Fight Mosley?
By William Mackay: If Manny Pacquiao (48-3-2, 36 KOs) defeats Ricky Hatton on May 2nd, we could very well be seeing Pacquiao take on World Boxing Association welterweight champion Shane Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs) in his next bout. Apparently, Pacquiao’s trainer, the great Freddie Roach, is all for it, calling it a “Great fight.” I don’t how he could even consider putting Pacquiao in with a fighter as big and as talented as Mosley, because this is a step too far for Pacquiao as far as I’m concerned.
Pavlik Willing To Fight Hopkins, But Only At 160
By Dan Ambrose: On today’s Steve Bunce Boxing Hour show, Kelly Pavlik’s trainer revealed that Pavlik is interested in fighting a rematch against Bernard Hopkins, but that if the fight takes place, it will have to be at 160 and not 170 or 175. Last time, Pavlik had to put on 10 pounds and move up to 170, which left him slow and lethargic at that weight. Hopkins, used to fighting at 175, easily took off the extra five pounds and ended up giving Pavlik a real licking, beating him soundly by a 12-round unanimous decision.
Why Won’t Hopkins Fight Dawson?
By Dan Ambrose: Bernard Hopkins (49-5-1, 32 KOs) has accomplished a lot in his career, holding the middleweight title for 11 long years before losing it to Jermain Taylor in 2005. Hopkins then, after losing another time against Taylor in a rematch December 2005, moved up to the light heavyweight division where he defeated Antonio Tarver and Winky Wright before losing once again, this time to Joe Calzaghe.
Is Haye Capable of Beating The Best Heavyweights?
By Chris Williams: David Haye’s blockbuster fight with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko remains in doubt at this point, although there is still a faint hope that the fight can be made. But if the bout doesn’t go ahead, just who in the heavyweight division is Haye capable of beating besides Monte Barrett? Unless he plays it safely, there’s a fair amount of heavyweights that could very well knock him out if he foolishly decides to fight them.
Williams and Wright Press Conference Quotes
Winky Wright, Former Undisputed Junior Middleweight: “I get a lot of people asking me why I’m not fighting. I tell them it has nothing to do with negotiations, it’s because no one wants to fight me. No one wants to fight Winky Wright. They say it’s about the money, but it isn’t that. I wanted to fight Pavlik and Calzaghe, I’d go to England to fight him if he wanted, but the fact of the matter is, no one wants to fight Winky.”
Malignaggi Boxing More For The Money Now
By Chris Williams: In an interview at Boxingtalk, former IBF light welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (25-2, 5 KOs) is apparently out of love with boxing, fighting more for the money rather than the sport of it. Malignaggi says in the interview “I don’t really have the desire, as far as love of the game, it’s more about the paycheck I can make.” Could it be that Malignaggi is perhaps bitter after having been knocked out in the 11th round by Ricky Hatton on November 22nd? It couldn’t be that, could it?

Joe Calzaghe – A True Great?
By Ash Choudhury: With the recent announcement of Joe Calzaghe’s retirement, questions are being asked as to whether his amazing record of 46-0 has been padded or if it truly reflects his greatness. Just the name Calzaghe creates many differences in opinion between boxing experts and casual fans alike. Some say that his record is lacks any real defining fights as his fights with Hopkins and Jones came too late, whereas others believe he beat everyone that was put in front of him.
