By William Mackay: After group stage 1 of the Super Six tournament we have former IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham ahead of the pack with three points with WBC super middleweight Carl Froch and Andre Ward following closely behind with two points. Coming in with no points as of yet are Andre Dirrell, Mikkel Kessler and Jermain Taylor, the losers of the group stage 1 contests. Taylor recently pulled out of the Super Six tournament, and his replacement will be chosen from the winner of the Allan Green vs. Sakio Bika fight which takes place next month in February.

By Scott Gilfoid: In two months, former International Boxing Federation middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (31-0, 25 KO’s) will be taking on the toughest opponent of his career on March 6th against Andre Dirrell (18-1, 13 KO’s) in a Super Six tournament bout at the Agua Caliente Casino, in Rancho Mirage, California. Abraham, 29, will be turning 30 next month on February 20th, and is already starting to show signs of aging with his work rate dropping in the past couple of years.

By Peter Wells: With the next round of the Super Six tourney on its way for next March/April, I would now like to give my preview for each fight for this round. Arthur Abraham tops the leader board with 3 points for his 12th round knockout of Jermain Taylor. Carl Froch and Andre Ward are both on 2 points; Carl beat Andre Dirrell via split decision while Ward beat Mikkel Kessler via technical decision after the fight was stopped in the 11th by accidental head butts, or more like purposeful head butts.

By Scott Gilfoid: Since putting on a masterful performance against World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch last month in their Super Six tournament competition in Nottingham, England, the world has been on fire with the prospects of seeing the talented Andre Dirrell (18-1, 13 KO’s) in action again. Dirrell, 27, who looks like a taller, heavier version of Floyd Mayweather Jr., showed incredible hand speed and defensive skills in fighting Froch and making him look, as one poster pointed out recently, like Bambi on ice skates. I have to agree with that comment.
