David Haye vs. Wladimir Klitschko: Unification

wladimir33349By Shaun Mcnally: November 7th, David Haye shocks the world by picking up a decision win over World Boxing Association heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev. Before the fight (possibly after seeing the size of Valuev at the weigh in) Haye is now the underdog. But a disciplined display sees him land more eye-catching punches, and stay away from Valuev’s. After rocking his opponent in the 12th round, the final bell sounds and neither look 100% confident that they’ve done enough to take the belt home. Michael Buffer proclaims “the winner by majority decision…from London England”. Haye looks ecstatic.

Will Haye have to kiss Wladimir Klitschko’s backside to get a fight?

haye45239By Scott Gilfoid: Well, it looks like David Haye’s backing out of fights against Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko has upset Wladimir Klitschko enough where he didn’t even want to mention Haye’s name in an interview today with Sky Sports News. Gosh, I never thought it would get to the point where Wladimir wouldn’t want to take what appears to be an easy fight for big money against the much hyped fighter from Britain. But I guess Haye backing out of fights with him and his brother Vitali has pissed Wladimir off to no end.

Will Haye avoid the Klitschko brothers?

By Chris Williams: After David Haye captured the World Boxing Association heavyweight title with a narrow win over Nikolay Valuev on November 7th, Haye made mention of wanting to fight one of the Klitschko brothers, saying he didn’t care which one it was as long as he was fighting one of the Klitschko brothers in a unification bout.

Does Haye deserve a 50-50 deal with the Klitschko brothers?

By Chris Williams: Since David Haye’s 12 round majority decision victory over former World Boxing Association heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev on November 7th, the British fighter has received a great deal of attention in the boxing world. Rightly or wrongly, Haye appears to have received more attention in that one fight, mostly because of his outstanding self promotional skills, than both Klitschko brothers combined for the entirety of their careers.

By Scott Gilfoid: Former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis thinks that World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko would be problems for WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, according to the BBC. Does Haye stand a chance against the Klitschko brothers?

wladimir3447By Chris Williams: To listen to some fans of WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, it’s only a matter of time before he beats both the Klitschko brothers and gathers up all the heavyweight titles. Haye, 29, came close to capturing all the titles while fighting as cruiserweight. The only title that escaped Haye was the International Boxing Federation (IBF) title. If Haye had stuck around longer, he probably would have won that title too.

Emanuel Steward excited about Haye-Klitschko fight

wladimir343By Scott Gilfoid: Emanuel Steward, the trainer for International Boxing Federation/World Boxing Organization heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, is excited about a fight between Klitschko and the new WBA heavyweight champion David Haye. In an interview at East Side Boxing, Steward said “That’s the fight, [Haye vs. Wladimir Klitschko] that’s the only fight that I would get excited about myself, for Wladimir because David [Haye] is still a very explosive puncher, and for somebody more closer to his size [meaning the 6’6” Wladimir], I think he [Haye] has got tremendous explosive power, good coordination and reflexes, and he’s a smart fighter.”

David Haye – Needs to improve to mix with the Klitschkos!

haye43423By Stuart Cross: Ok so there has been a lot of rubbish written since David Haye dispatched Nikolay Valuev, a lot of people in the forums writing all sorts. So here is how I see it.

I think Haye deserved to win the fight. I mean what did Valuev do, pumped out his jab and missed all night, same as he always does, is that really a heavyweight champion? No, it’s not, and for me he’s a spoiler and just whats bad about the heavy weights right now.

Prediction: Haye won’t hold onto his title for long

haye4335By Scott Gilfoid: I know that David Haye has legions of loyal fans in the UK, and a fair amount of new boxing fans around the world but in all honesty I can’t really see Haye holding onto his title for more than one title defense if that. Call Haye a paper champion, because that’s essentially the way I see him unless he’s steered away from the tougher opponents like the Klitschko brothers and many other top fighters in the division.
