Darchinyan: I’m going to send Donaire into retirement

donaire674By Chris Williams: Vic Darchinyan (39-5-1, 28 KO’s) has taken an idea from Brandon Rios by deciding that he not only wants to beat Nonito Donaire (31-2, 20 KO’s) tonight, he wants to send Donaire into retirement. That’s been Rios’ battle cry for his fight this month against Manny Pacquiao in Macao, China. Rios wants to beat Pacquiao so badly that he’ll give up the sport and retire to politics.

Donaire and Darchinyan will be facing each other on HBO at the American Bank Center, in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA. HBO blessed the fight despite the fact that Darchinyan has already been knocked out by Donaire six years ago and he’s also lost two out of his last four fights. You have to wonder why HBO said yes to this fight because it doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense because the fight has mismatch written all over regardless of what Darchinyan says.

Donaire in no win fight against Darchinyan

donaire65By Chris Williams: Nonito Donaire (31-2, 20 KO’s) is facing Vic Darchinyan (39-5-1, 28 KO’s) tomorrow night in a fight that few boxing fans are interested in seeing at the American Bank Center, in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA. Darchinyan is 37, he’s lost two out of his last four fights, and he’s pretty much just a shot fighter now. On top of that, Donaire already knocked him out 6 years ago. Whether it was Donaire or his promoter Bob Arum’s idea for him to fight Darchinyan again, it’s seems like a really bad idea.

Donaire should be fighting the guy that just beat him in Guillermo Rigondeaux, because he really took Donaire to school last April in beating him by a 12 round decision. But by Donaire choosing to fight Darchinyan again at this stage in Darchinyan’s career, it makes Donaire look like a cherry picker and a ducker for making this move. You normally don’t see fighters getting easily beaten by someone and then turning around and deciding to fight someone that they easily beat years ago. That’s a backwards move and it doesn’t do anything to make people forget that you were badly beaten.

Donaire vs. Darchinyan II. Is it a guaranteed bet?

donaire145By Gerardo Granados: Next Saturday night the former multiple division champions veteran Vic Darchinyan and Nonito Donaire will face for the second time since 2007. Last time the Armenian Raging Bull was the favorite but now it seems that only a few give him a good chance to defeat a younger lion in the Filipino Flash. The betting odds are really uneven going up to 12 – 1, but the heart and determination of the veteran lion cannot be measured until the fight takes place.

In their first meeting Darchinyan looked too confident and didn’t respect Donaire´s power and end up knocked out. If his game plan is the same then he is into a rough night. Nonito edges Vic in almost all the important tangibles and intangibles of the game, but it will be interesting to see if he is still able to make the super bantam weight limit and also confirm if he is already fully recovered from his right shoulder surgery.

donaire5By Chris Williams: Nonito Donaire (31-2, 20 KO’s) is reportedly down to 131 lbs. already with just 2 weeks to go before his rematch against soon to be 38-year-old Vic Darchinyan (39-5-1, 28 KO’s) on HBO on November 9th at the American Bank Center, in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA, according to Philboxing.com. The bout will be taking place at featherweight (126), and Donaire should easily make that weight.

Darchinyan, who is more of super flyweight, will obviously make the weight as well. Darchinyan has been fighting at bantamweight and super bantamweight for the past three years, but with mixed results. He’s not been successful at either of those weights and has lost a lot of fights since he left the super flyweight division.

Robert Garcia: Donaire is so fast and strong

donaire888By Chris Williams: Trainer Robert Garcia is really pleased with how Nonito Donaire (31-2, 20 KO’s) is looking in his preparation for 37-year-old Vic Darchinyan (39-5-1, 28 KO’s) in their rematch 2 months from now on November 9th in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA.

Darchinyan vowing to stop Donaire on November 9th

donaire53By Chris Williams: Nonito Donaire (31-2, 20 KO’s) and Vic Darchinyan (39-5-1, 28 KO’s) have a rematch scheduled at featherweight on November 9th in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA. The will be televised as the main event on HBO. Donaire lost his last fight to Guillermo Rigondeaux, and Darchinyan, 37, has lost 2 out of his last 4 fights. Vic Darchinyan V Nonito Donaire: November 16th

donaire55By Sevak Sarkisian: A long awaited and perhaps expired re-match has been scheduled to take place in Corpus Christi Texas on November 16th between former multi weight world champion’s Vic Darchinyan (39-5 28KO’s) and Nonito Donaire (31-2 20KO’s). The fight is rumored to serve as a part of a triple header on a HBO card.

It was going to be Darchinyan’s 7th defense of his IBF strap. However, we all know what happen on that night.

Donaire training for November 9th fight, still wants Darchinyan

donaire2221By Chris Williams: Nonito Donaire (31-2, 20 KO’s) has started training for his November 9th fight at a still to be determined venue in Texas. Donaire will be fighting at featherweight now after having problems making super bantamweight for his last fight against Guillermo Rigondeaux last April.

Donaire feels this is a better weight class for him, as he’s now walking around at 145 lbs. in between fights. Donaire is still interested in fighting 37-year-old Vic Darchinyan (39-5-1, 28 KO’s), but he says he’s move onto someone else if Darchinyan doesn’t want to fight him at featherweight.
