By Chris Williams: Negotiations aren’t going well between IBF/WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (29-1, 18 KO’s) and 33-year-old Jorge Arce (60-6-2, 46 KO’s) for a fight in November, according to Dan Rafael of ESPN. Arce supposedly wants too much money and this is getting in the way of the fight being made.
Toshiaki Nishioka
Donaire wants Nishioka next, then will likely move up to 126 without facing Rigondeaux
By Chris Williams: After winning an unimpressive 12 round unanimous decision victory over IBF super bantamweight champion Jeffrey Mathebula (26-4-2, 14 KO’s) last night at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California, WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (29-1, 18 KO’s) said he’ll likely go after one more belt at 122 against WBC Emeritus super bantamweight champion Toshiaki Nishioka (39-4, 24 KO’s) and then move up to the featherweight division to campaign at 126 lbs.

By Dan Ambrose: Nonito Donaire (27-1, 18 KO’s) goes after his third world title belt next month against Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. (21-1-1, 18 KO’s) in a fight for the vacant WBO super bantamweight title at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Donaire doesn’t plan on standing in one place if he can pick up the title, as he wants to then face Jorge Arce (59-6-2, 45 KO’s) followed by a fight against WBC super bantamweight champion Toshiaki Nishioka (39-4-3, 24 KO’s).
Arum wants to match Donaire against Nishioka and Arce in 2012
By Chris Williams: Photo credit: Sumio Yamada – In a sign that he may have a tin ear for what boxing fans want to see, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum wants to move his fighter Nonito Donaire (27-1, 18 KO’s) up to the super bantamweight division where Arum wants Donaire to spend the better part of the year facing WBC super bantamweight champion Toshioki Nishioka and then WBO super bantamweight champion Jorge Arce so that Donaire can capture two of the belts. With Arum still not matching Donaire against the fighters that fans want to see him facing in Yuriorkis Gamboa aand Juan Manuel Lopez, it makes you wonder if Arum has confidence in Donaire or not.
