Deontay Wilder – Siarhei Liakhovich to be televised by Showtime on August 9th

wilder33By Scott Gilfoid: U.S boxing fans are going to be in for a real treat with the August 9th heavyweight match-up between Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) and Siarhei Liakhovich (25-5, 16 KO’s) being televised by Showtime from the Fantasy Springs Casino, in Indio, California, USA.

The Wilder-Liakhovich fight will be the main event on the card with light middleweight Jarmall Charlo facing Antwone Smith and lightweight Francisco Vargas facing Brandon Bennett in undercard fights.

This is a nice little card if I do say so myself. Some of these guys are heading for stardom in the near future. Deontay is a can’t miss future star, and Vargas and Charlo are going places as well.

Deontay Wilder wants to KO Liakhovich, and keep knockout streak going

wilder991By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) doesn’t feel like he’d in any kind of race to destroy his next opponent Siarhei Liakhovich (25-5, 16 KO’s) quickly in their fight coming up on August 9th in the United States.

Wilder doesn’t feel that he has to improve on the 9th round stoppage that Liakhovich’s last two opponents Robert Helenius and Bryant Jennings have gotten in beating him. It’s not a competition between Wilder and those guys about how quickly he crush Liakhovich.

The only thing that the 27-year-old Deontay is concerned about is knocking Liakhovich out, period. Deontay wants to keep his 28-fight knockout streak going by making the 37-year-old Liakhovich his 29th victim on August 9th.

Deontay Wilder vs. Siarhei Liakhovich possible for Showtime in Alabama TBA

liakhovich44553533By Scott Gilfoid: A fight between unbeaten American heavyweight Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) and former WBO heavyweight champion Siarhei Liakhovich (25-5, 16 KO’s) is a possibility, according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.

He’s saying that Wilder will most likely be facing the 37-year-old Liakhovich next. This makes sense because the 6’7” Deontay recently said he would be facing a well-known Russian fighter next, and Liakovich is from Belarus, which is right next to Russia. Liakovich now lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.
