By Dan Ambrose: WBC super flyweight champion Carlos “El Principe: Cuadras (35-0-1, 27 KOs) isn’t worried about the combination punching from his unbeaten opponent Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (45-0, 38 KOs) for their fight this Saturday night, because he believes his superior size and punching power will ultimately be too much for the 29-year-old Nicaraguan challenger.

There are many boxing fans who believe that Cuadras is too big, too strong and too mobile for Gonzalez to beat. Up until now, “Chocolatito” has looked unbeatable in striding through three divisions to win world titles. However, this time it might be different for the fighter that has never tasted defeat, and never felt what it was like to be in the losing end.

By Dan Ambrose: World Boxing Council World super flyweight champion Carlos “Principe” Cuadras (35-0-1, 27 KOs) believes he’s got the punching power and the speed to defeat former three division world champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (45-0, 38 KOs) in their fight this Saturday night on HBO Championship Boxing at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

The Gonzalez-Cuadras fight will be shown at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. It comes on after the Gennady “GGG” Golovkin vs. Kell Brook fight, which has a start time at 5:30 p.m. ET/PT.

The 5’3” Gonzalez is moving up in weight from the flyweight division [112lbs] to take on the younger and bigger 5’4” Cuadras for his 115lb title. In addition to Cuadras’ one inch height advantage, he has a two inch reach advantage over Gonzalez.

By Dan Ambrose: Former three division world champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (45-0-0, 38KO’s) weighed in at 117.9 pounds for his seven-day weigh-in for his title challenge against WBC super flyweight champion Carlos “Principe” Cuadras (35-0-1, 27KO’s) on September 10 at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Cuadras, 5’4”, weighed in slightly heavier at 120.2 pounds. Cuadras, 28, is expected to rehydrate quite a bit after the two fighters weigh-in on September 9 for their fight on HBO Championship Boxing. Gonzalez, 29, has looked dominating in the past in winning world titles at minimumweight, light flyweight and flyweight.

By Dan Ambrose: Undefeated WBC flyweight champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (45-0, 38 KOs) is in negotiations with unbeaten WBC super flyweight champion Carlos Cuadras (35-0-1, 27 KOs) for a fight on HBO Championship Boxing on September 10 in Los Angeles, California, according to Ring TV.

Gonzalez, 29, will be moving up in weight from flyweight (112lbs) to challenge for the 27-year-old Cuadras’ WBC 115lb title. The negotiations are still underway.
This is one of those 50-50 fights that are hard to predict. Cuadras has a lot of talent and punching power. It’s same with Gonzalez. Both fighters are 5’4”.

Casimero, 26, is coming off an impressive fourth round knockout win over IBF flyweight champion Amnat Ruenroeng last month on May 25 in their rematch in Beijing, China. Casimero was beaten last year by Ruenroeng in losing a 12 round unanimous decision in Bangkok, Thailand.
