By Jason Kim: Former WBO heavyweight champion Siarhei Liakhovich (25-3, 16 KO’s) faces young heavyweight contender Robert Helenius (15-0, 10 KO’s) in two weeks on August 27th at the Messehaille, Erut, Thuringen, Germany. Helenius, 27, ranked #2 WBO, #3 IBF, #9 WBA, #13 WBC, is quickly moving up the heavyweight rankings after an impressive 9th round TKO win over Samuel Peter on April 2nd. Helenius beat Peter even more impressively than world champion Wladimir Klitschko did in beating Peter last September.

By Jim Dower: Unbeaten heavyweight contender Robert Helenius (15-0, 10 KO’s) will be fighting former WBO heavyweight champion Sergei Liakhovich (25-3, 16 KO’s) on August 27th. The two were supposed to have fought next month in July but Helenius injured his hand while training and will need extra time to get get ready. The 6’6″ Helenius is quickly making a name for himself in the heavyweight division after stopping former WBC heavyweight champion Samuel Peter by a 9th round TKO in April.

McKenna (McJack): Twenty seven year old Robert Helenius AKA The “Nordic Nightmare” (15-0, 10 KO’s) will continue his climb up the pugilistic ladder in his quest for an eventual title shot when he takes on Sergei Liakhovich AKA The “White Wolf” (25-3, 16 KO’s) in July. The date for the showdown between Helenius and Liakhovich has been alternately reported as being on July 1 or July 16. A firm date will be announced later.

McKenna (McJack): Robert “The Nordic Nightmare” Helenius (15-0, 10 KO’s) scored an impressive ninth round KO over former WBC Heavyweight Champion Sam “The Nigerian Nightmare” Peter (34, 5, 27 KO’s) at the Gary Weber Stadium in Halle, Germany on Saturday night. Helenius fought cautiously for the first couple of rounds as Peter pressed the attack.

By Jim Dower: Having looked poor in his last fight in winning a questionable 12 round decision over #1 contender Denis Lebedev, WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (32-1, 23 KO’s) selected a smaller, lower ranked opponent in #10 ranked WBO contender Ran Nakash (25-1, 18 KO’s) and was able to beat him without any problems by a 12 round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Gerry Weber Stadium, Halle, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
