Khan saying he wants Alexander or Guerrero for December fight

khan4444By Scott Gilfoid: Amir Khan says he’s interested in facing either Robert Guerrero or Devon Alexander for his next fight in December if the two are available. Khan mentioned wanting to fight one of them in the UK or Dubai.

That’s probably not going to happen, but it’s okay for Khan to wish. Khan says he still wants to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao in the future. Interestingly enough, he says the Mayweather fight didn’t happen this year because of Ramadan.

I’m not sure that Khan would have gotten the Mayweather fight even if there wasn’t Ramadan at the end of the year.

Maidana thinks Canelo and Guerrero were afraid of Mayweather

_DSC7977(Photo credit: Idris Erba) By Chris Williams: Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31 KO’s) isn’t willing to give Floyd Mayweather Jr (46-0, 26 KOs) full credit for his wins over Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero in 2013 for some reason. Rather than admitting that Mayweather did a great job of beating Canelo and Guerrero due to his boxing skills being too much for them to handle, Maidana says he thinks Mayweather beat them because they might been afraid of him.

They didn’t fight at the top of their game because they were simply too afraid of Mayweather because of his legend rather than who he actually was. Maidana says the reason he did so well against Mayweather because he showed him no respect and went right at him.

Robert Guerrero: I had Lara beating Canelo

lara9363By Dan Ambrose: Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions wants to move his fighter Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (44-1-1, 31 KOs) for bigger and better things following his 12 round split decision win over Erislandy Lara (19-2-2, 12 KOs) in their middleweight fight last Saturday night, but there are still quite a few people who feel that Canelo was given a bogus win over the Cuban fighter.

Former two division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero is one of many people who believe that Lara did enough to deserve a win over Canelo last Saturday night.

“I watched @Laraboxing fight in Mexico yesterday and mostly everyone including me thought he beat Canelo. #Boxing #Rematch,” Guerrero said on his twitter.

Robert Guerrero talking Kamegai fight: I could have made it easy

guerrero4455By Dan Ambrose: After his struggles to beat fringe contender Yoshihiro Kamegai (24-2-1, 21 KO’s), Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (32-2-1, 18 KO’s) is still conducting damage control to help shape the minds of boxing fans that saw the fight. Guerrero won the fight by a 12 round unanimous decision at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, but he took a lot of head trauma from the powerful punches from the Japanese fighter.

Guerrero says that he could have made it a very easy fight if he wanted to, but he wanted to make it exciting for the fans, which is why he says he stood in there and fought Kamegai in a toe-to-toe battle for 12 rounds.

Guerrero wants the big names – Mayweather and Pacquiao

guerrero55664By Dan Ambrose: Following his less than impressive 12 round decision win over Yoshihiro Kamegai (24-2-1, 21 KO’s) last Saturday night, former two division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (32-2-1, 18 KO’s) is gunning for the big names in the sport such as Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr and Danny Garcia for his next fight. However, the chances of Guerrero getting any of them to fight him next are pretty much zero right now. He can essentially forget about another fight against Mayweather ever taking place again.

Unlike last time, Guerrero won’t be able to take his way into a big money fight this time around. He’s going to need to fight the top fighters at 147, and hope that he’s got the talent to beat them. I don’t like Guerrero’s chances of beating any of the top guys. Even Devon Alexander would likely be too good for him.
