Hall Of Fame Boxing Promotion is bringing World Boxing Federation championship boxing to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania on Friday August 30, as two WBF title fights will headline a big show at the traditional Diamond Jubilee Hall. The event has been dubbed “Title Night In Tanzania”.

The main event sees one of the East African country’s most celebrated fighters, Francis Cheka, take on American danger-man Phil “The Drill” Williams for the vacant WBF World Super Middleweight crown, while Thomas Mashali and Mada Maugo will square off in an all-Tanzanian clash for the vacant WBF All Africa title in the same weight class.

Martin Murray hoping to fight Darren Barker next

MARTIN MURRAY believes a clash between him and Darren Barker would be one for the ages.

Barker won the IBF middleweight title at the weekend with a bruising 12 round decision over Daniel Geale.

And in the days since, the Barnet man has mentioned Murray as a potential opponent for first defence.

Murray has already proven his mettle at world level in two overseas title attempts and, if made, the fight would easily be the biggest all-British clash in the 160lbs division since the era of Eubank, Benn and Watson.

Liakhovich files protest about KO loss to Deontay Wilder

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona (August 15, 2013) – Former World Boxing Organization (“WBO”) Heavyweight Champion Sergei “The White Wolf” Liakhovich is filing a formal protest, regarding the final outcome of his fight last Friday night against undefeated Deontay Wilder, due to illegal punches that led to him being knocked out at 1:43 of the first round at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.

Liakhovich’s advisor, Attorney Anthony Cardinale, is preparing the formal protest to file with the California State athletic Commission, seeking the outcome be ruled a “no contest.”

Mark Prince to fight on on October 4th at York Hall, in London

Former WBO Inter-Continental Light Heavyweight Champion, and World title challenger, Mark Prince is set to make a comeback, on the Dave Murphy Acourtier Events promoted ‘NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS’ at York Hall, in London, on Friday 4th October.

Mark had a stellar career the first time around, which culminated in a World title challenge against Poland’s Dariusz Michalczewski, who was making his fifteenth defense of his WBO crown.
