By Jason Kim: Unbeaten middleweight contender Peter Quillin (25-0, 19 KO’s) will be reportedly fighting on the undercard of the WBC light heavyweight fight between champion Bernard Hopkins and challenger Chad Dawson on October 15th at the Staples center in Los Angeles, California.
Roach: Sergio Martinez is being protected, he needs to fight Quillin
By Dan Ambrose: In one of Freddie Roach’s more laughable comments he’s made in quite some time he’s saying that former WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez is being protected from his fighter Peter Quillin (25-0, 19 KO’s). That’s pretty funny because the 28-year-old Quillin is no threat to Martinez and would be nothing more than another knockout victim for Martinez if he were to take the time to fight him.
Bute targeting Quillin, Dirrell, Johnson and Pirog for his next fight
By Dan Ambrose: Having just lost a potential fight against former WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik for his next fight, IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute is targeting some more middleweights and is looking at trying to land a fight against Peter Quillin or Dmitriy Pirog. The chances aren’t good at getting Quillin to take the fight, because he’s now fighting at middleweight and probably wouldn’t want to move back up in weight to face the dangerous Bute.

Quillin vs. Lehoullier mismatch tonight on Khan-Judah undercard
By Dan Ambrose: Unbeaten super middleweight contender Peter Quillin (24-0, 18 KO’s) takes a backwards step tonight in taking on Jason Lehoullier (21-5-1, 8 KO’s) in a 10 round bout on the undercard of the Amir Khan vs. Zab Judah card at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Roach: I’d welcome Quillin against Sergio Martinez
By Chris Williams: Trainer Freddie Roach says he’s interested in putting his unbeaten super middleweight contender Peter Quillin (24-0, 18 KO’s) against former World Boxing Council (WBC) middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (47-2-2, 26 KO’s) if Martinez was willing to take the fight. Quillin, ranked #5 by the IBF in the super middleweight division, is a fighter that Roach has been training for a while and who sees as becoming a champion in the near future.
Quillin defeats Brinkley, but looks badly flawed
By Dan Ambrose: Unbeaten super middleweight contender Peter Quillin (24-0, 18 KO’s) stopped contender Jesse Brinkley (35-7, 22 KO’s) in the 3rd round on Friday night in a scheduled 10 round bout at the Reno Events Center in Nevada. Brinkley, 27, one of the fighters trained by Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, California, was able to hurt the 34-year-old Brinkley with a big right hand in the 3rd round and then continue to pummel him with straight rights until referee Joe Cortez jumped in between them and halted the bout while Brinkley was taking punishment in the corner.

Quillin Defeats Miranda, Fails To Impress
By Michael Lieberman: Undefeated super middleweight prospect Peter Quillin (19-0, 14 KOs) had great difficulty beating hard-hitting Colombian Dionisio Miranda (19-2-2, 18 KOs) by a 10-round unanimous decision on Wednesday night at the Hard Rock Times Square, in New York City, New York. Quillin, 24, nicknamed “Kid Chocolate,” won most of the early rounds of the fight and appeared to be cruising along in the 7th, when the powerful Miranda (no relations to the knockout artist Edison Miranda, also a Colombian) hurt Quillin with a powerful left-right combination that sent Quillin, now badly stunned, retreating to the ropes where Miranda unloaded on Quillin with 14 consecutive unanswered punches.
However, Miranda soon punched himself out, which allowed a badly shaken Quillin to survive the round. Quillin would recover well in the 8th, and fight effectively in the remaining 9th and 10th rounds of the fight. The final judges’ scores were 97-92, 97-92 and 97-93.
