Mosley Still Ready to Fight Pacquiao – News

By Manuel Perez: With Manny Pacquiao’s recent problems with WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto not wanting to put his title on the line for the fight, Pacquiao might want to look in another direction towards World Boxing Association welterweight champion Shane Mosley, who said that he’s more than willing to still fight Pacquiao. On Thursday night at the GBP fight at the Club Nokia, Mosley said “Tell them (Pacquiao, Bob Arum and Freddie Roach) what I offered is still on the table. The ball is in their court.”

Cotto vs. Pacquiao In Jeopardy? – News

pac42448By Eric Torres: As reported by some media outlets, the proposed mega fight between Miguel Cotto & Manny Pacquiao On November 14th might not go forward. The reason is simple, but not so simple. Manny Pacquiao is now demanding that the fight be for Miguel Cotto’s Welterweight title. Manny Pacquiao is on the verge of being the first seven time world champion in seven weight divisions and the prospect of that clearly has Freddie Roach wanting the fight for Cotto’s Title.

Boxing – Is Pacquiao Afraid to Fight Cotto at 147?

By Manuel Perez: Well, Manny Pacquiao only has himself and his trainer Freddie Roach to blame for this latest fiasco with World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Miguel Cotto about the title not being on the line for the fight. If Pacquiao and Roach wanted the title to be up for grabs in the fight, they shouldn’t have requested for Cotto to take the fight at a 145 pound catch weight rather than the upper 147 welterweight limit.

Cotto: “If Pacquiao Wants a Title for the Fight, It Will Have to Be at 147″

By Manuel Perez: If Manny Pacquiao wants a chance at World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Miguel Cotto’s WBO title, then Manny’s going to have to grow a pair and put on another two pounds to make the fight at the normal 147 pound limit of the welterweight division rather than his 145 pound catch weight business because Cotto is refusing to put his WBO title on the line for their November 14th fight unless Pacquiao comes in at the normal weight.

Why Pacquiao Will Destroy Cotto: Fire Up The Grill and Simmer Until Ready

pac453444By Mike Burnell: First and foremost this is a fight fans fight. It’s a fight that stimulates our primitive hunger for violence. This may not be the huge fillet mignon that hardcore fight fans crave but it is a juicy rib eye. Anyone who has grilled a day in their life knows that it is almost impossible to grill a ribeye that doesn’t satisfy. This fight will leave us full and anticipating the next meal.

I’m Stripping Pacquiao of his Pound for Pound Spot

pac453427By Liam Santiago: Recently, I posted an article on boxingnews24’s new pound for pound rankings. I placed Manny Pacquiao at number one which, looking at the whole picture, I feel I might have been wrong to do. So, I am stripping Pacquiao of this number one spot, for now. I will watch the Cotto fight and make a decision. If he beats Cotto comfortably and I feel the weight drop for Cotto has played no part, I will put him back at no.1, bow down and apologize.

Pacquiao Should Stop Dragging Boxers Down in Weight

pac345637By Liam Santiago: I am a big fan of Manny Pacquiao. But I wish he would stop demanding boxers come down from their natural weight. What gives Pacquiao the right to demand boxers lose extra weight than what they are comfortable losing. Of course, this gives Pacquiao a big advantage. His opponent is likely to be weak after pushing his body to extreme limits to make the weight limit. At this level, every pound makes a massive difference. As I say, I’m a huge fan of ‘Pac-Man’, but I wish he would fight at a weight limit, whether it’s lightweight, light welterweight or welterweight, I don’t care.

Is Cotto Damaged Goods?

By Dave Lahr: ESPN analyst Teddy Atlas made mention of Miguel Cotto looking like damaged goods last Friday night during the FNF telecast, remarking on how Cotto didn’t look good in his fight with Joshua Clottey in June and looked ready to quit during the later rounds. Atlas raised a very good point about Cotto. He doesn’t seem to be the same fighter he was before his fight with Antonio Margarito last year in July.
