Wladimir not interested in Huck bout despite huge offer of 5 million euro

Image: Wladimir not interested in Huck bout despite huge offer of 5 million euroBy Dan Ambrose: IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko reportedly has been offered 5 million euros [$6.5 million] to fight WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (34-2-1, 25 KO’s) in a fight that would take place at heavyweight. However, Wladimir has reportedly said no to the fight for some reason despite the big money involved if he were to take it.

Huck’s promoters at Sauerland Events are hoping Wladimir’s management will come up with a counter offer for what they want for a fight of this nature, but it’s possible that Sauerland Events may never hear anything back. It doesn’t make sense that Wladimir would say no a fight against Huck, who can really punch, and then fight guys like Jean Marc Mormeck, Tony Thompson, and Mariusz Wach. Huck would arguably be a much better test for Wladimir than putting in slow guys without a lot of power to compete with Wladimir. If the money is right why wouldn’t Wladimir say yes to a fight against Huck?

Huck vs. Arslan on Saturday

Image: Huck vs. Arslan on Saturday(Picture: Photo Wende) By Jason Kim: This Saturday night WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (34-2-1, 25 KO’s) will be making his 10th defense of his World Boxing Organization title against old timer 42-year-old Firat Arslan (32-5-2, 21 KO’s) at the Gerry Weber Stadium, in Halle, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.

Arslan, #8 WBO, seems to have been hand-picked for no other reason that he’s born in Germany and is well known among the boxing fans there. Arslan couldn’t have been picked out for what he’s done recently because he’s coming off of a draw against Alexander Alekseev and was stopped in the 11th round two years ago by Steve Herelius.

Huck-Arslan winner must face Afolabi

Image: Huck-Arslan winner must face AfolabiBy Jason Kim: The November 3rd winner of the title fight between WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (34-2-1, 25 KO’s) and Firat Arslan (32-5-2, 21 KO’s) got some bad news on Friday with the WBO order for the winner of the fight to face WBO interim cruiserweight champion Ola Ofolabi (19-2-4, 9 KO’s) within 180 days.

Huck, 27, probably doesn’t like that idea at all because he struggled to a gift 12 round draw against Afolabi last May in a fight where Huck deserved to lost by at least two rounds. He looked really poor in that fight but it took place in Germany where he’s almost impossible to beat.

Huck defends WBO cruiserweight title against Arslan on 11/3

Image: Huck defends WBO cruiserweight title against Arslan on 11/3By Jason Kim: WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (34-2, 25 KO’s) will be making his 10th title defense of his World Boxing Organization belt on November 3rd against #8 WBO Firat Arslan (32-5-2, 21 KO’s) at the Gerry Weber Stadium, Halle, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.

This defense should be a lot easier one than Huck’s last fight against interim WBO cruiserweight champion Ola Afolabi, who Huck had to rally to earn a 12 round draw against last May. Huck appeared to lose that fight, but like in his bout with Denis Lebedev, he was able to dodge a bullet and was saved from defeat somehow.
