By Jason Kim: If you’re one of the people who are against boxers having to take random blood tests for their fights, you’ll be relieved to know that the World Boxing Organization won’t be requiring a random blood test for the March 13th bout between WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey at the Dallas Cowboy stadium, in Arlington, Texas.
Examiner.com writer Michael Marley reports that the WBO president Franciso Valcartcel says that the WBO won’t be requiring Pacquiao or Clottey to take the random blood tests for their fights on March 13th.
By Sean McDaniel: If the ESPN poll is any guide in which the respondents were asked if they would watch the Pacquiao-Clottey bout shown at the Dallas Cowboy stadium, there could be a general disinterest in the upcoming March 13th bout between WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey at the Dallas Cowboy stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Of 37,000 respondents that have taken part in the poll, 76% of them have voted that they won’t be watching the Pacquiao-Clottey fight. Of course, this is a boxing site that hardcore fans go to more than casual ones.
By Eric Thomas: As reported by ESPN writer Dan Rafael, the Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey bout could possibly have former World Boxing Association welterweight champion Antonio Margarito fighting in the co-main event.
If this turns out to be the case, it would be the first bout for Margarito in over a year since his 9th round stoppage loss to Shane Mosley in January 2009.

Jerry Jones and Bob Arum, owner of the Dallas Cowboys and chairman of Top Rank, respectively, announced today that Cowboys Stadium would be the site of the MANNY PACQUIAO vs. JOSHUA CLOTTEY World Welterweight Championship fight taking place on Saturday, March 13 and broadcast Live on Pay-Per-View. Formal news conferences at Cowboys Stadium and in New York next week will provide details on tickets and the pay-per-view broadcast. Pacquiao vs. Clottey will be promoted by Top Rank, in association with the Dallas Cowboys and MP Promotions. Pacquiao and Clottey boast a combine record of 85-6-2 (59 KOs) — a winning percentage of 91% and a victory by knockout ratio of nearly 70%.
“I have wanted to bring a major boxing event to North Texas for many years, so why not bring in the biggest and the best?” asked Jones. “Manny Pacquiao is boxing’s No. 1 pound for pound attraction and the world champion. Manny defending his title against Joshua Clottey is not just a great fight, it’s a great event, and one we can showcase to the fullest in Cowboys Stadium. We’re going to promote this like it was the Super Bowl..”

First, re the email asking about the consequences if Pacquiao tests dirty, sent by a “reliable anonymous source” out of the Pacquiao camp, I, like many boxing writers and bloggers strenuously call BS. Where is this phantom email? If it exists, why not publish it?
By Jason Kim: Freddie Roach, the trainer for World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, says in an article at Fight Hype that “Our [Pacquiao] goal is to knock him [Clottey out.” Its understandable why Roach would want his fighter Pacquiao to try and knock Clottey out, because the longer that he sticks around in the fight the more damage he can inflict upon Pacquiao. The good news is that Clottey is starting to show his age 32 – soon to be 33 in March – and doesn’t have much of a right hand anymore.

But I believe History and not “his story” will judge the Pacquiao’s remarkable ascent in the Pound-for-pound throne. In that regard, and with the benefit of hindsight, I hope this piece would shed some light.
While Dela Hoya was Pacquiao’s sacrificial lamb in the Altar of Fame, Hatton was really the deciding factor in his pound-for-pound claim.
By Chris Williams: To read what Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is saying about the March 13th fight between Joshua Clottey vs. Manny Pacquiao fight at the Dallas Cowboy stadium, you would think that Arum found the cure for cancer or something. In an article by Dan Rafael of ESPN, Arum said “This is going to be one of the biggest events in the history of boxing. This is the most incredible stadium setting I have ever seen. It is absolutely unbelievable. This is going to be much, much more than just a boxing match. A lot of things that happen are ordained by God.” Oh brother.
By Chris Williams: After Manny Pacquiao and his management team suddenly pulled out of their planned March 13th fight with unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. last week because of the random drug testing methods for the fight, it shot an arrow through what many boxing experts feel would have been the biggest fight of all time. Pacquiao, who would have possibly made $40 million on the fight, walked away from that money because he didn’t want to have blood taken from him inside 24 days from the fight.
