By Jason Kim: According to ABS-CBNNews, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is ready to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr., but if the fight can’t be put together, he is open to fighting rematches with Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto. Obviously, Pacquiao isn’t serious about wanting to fight Hatton again, because he seems to have been really effected by the loss to Pacquiao, hasn’t fought since being destroyed in the 2nd round by Pacquiao last year in May 2009, and has put on a great deal of weight.

What will be Pacquiao’s Plan B if the Mayweather fight doesn’t happen?
By Chris Williams: Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions opened his yap this weak about the Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather contract being close to finalized. I don’t necessarily buy it.
I think there’s tons of things that can still go wrong that will derail this fight from happening, one of them being the blood tests that Mayweather has been asking for.
Hatton and Calderon both think Mayweather will beat Pacquiao
By Dave Lahr: Ricky Hatton chimed in with his thoughts on who will win the mega fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., saying in an article at the Manilatimes.net, “I think Floyd is too good defensively. He is so hard to hit, and I think he might ultimately just have a few too many tricks up his sleeves for Manny.”
De La Hoya reveals that Mayweather-Pacquiao contract is almost finalized
By Chris Williams: Oscar De La Hoya spilled the beans about the negotiation status of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight, saying to the Univision television station yesterday “I think right now we are very, very close in finalizing the contracts. I can’t talk right now in detail about the negotiations but I can say that we are very close.” If the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight can be made, it would be possibly be the biggest fight in boxing history with both fighters making tens of millions each for the historic fight.
De La Hoya says Mayweather-Pacquiao fight close to being signed – News
By Eric Thomas: Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions is reporting that the contracts for the mega fight between World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are close to being finalized. Writer John Chavez of theboxingtruth.com, reports that De La Hoya has reveled that the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight is being close to being signed. De La Hoya, speaking with the Spanish television channel Univision, said “Up until now, it’s been a very difficult negotiation process for various reasons but right now we’re very close. We’re very close in finalizing the contracts that were once very complicated. The two fighters [Mayweather and Pacquiao] now realize that this fight must be made. It has to be made because the boxing fans want to see it happen and right now it’s the biggest fight that can be made in the world. It’s going to be a big, big fight. I think right now, we are very, very close in finalizing the contracts. I can’t talk right now in detail about the negotiations but I will say we are very close.”
Mayweather needs to beat Pacquiao already and move onto other opponents
By Dave Lahr: I’m getting tired of waiting for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to finally decide to beat Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather has been taking his time about this since he totally dominated Shane Mosley on May 1st. I don’t blame Mayweather one bit for not fighting Pacquiao in March, because Pacquiao wouldn’t agree to the 14 day blood testing cutoff that Mayweather wanted for the fight. But I just want Mayweather to get it over with and fight Pacquiao and drill him to pieces so Floyd can move on to more interesting fighters.
Steward says he wants Cotto to fight Pacquiao, and not Margarito – News
By Dan Ambrose: Miguel Cotto’s trainer Emanuel Steward says he would prefer not to reward Antonio Margarito with a rematch after Margarito was found to have a plaster-like substance on his hand wraps before his fight with Shane Mosley last year in January. Steward, who recently started training Cotto, says he would prefer that Cotto go after a rematch with Manny Pacquiao rather than face Margarito again and he would also like to see Cotto fight at welterweight instead of fighting against the bigger fighters at junior middleweight.
The Insecurities of Floyd Mayweather Jr.
By Ricardo Lucero: On a warm spring evening, we were enjoying our R&R leave, discussing lazily some silly topic, when one of the guys came barging into the room with his news – Floyd Mayweather Junior is retiring again! He just saw the video on the net…and we all said -What? We all sat up and the debate began. We are pretty much a mixed bunch. Some Asian-Americans, African-Americans,Mexican-Americans etc.,from every walk of life from every part of America.
Maybe Pacquiao should do some more appeasing to get Mayweather back in the ring
By Dave Lahr: We’ve seen Manny Pacquiao give in and appease Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently by agreeing to a 14 day cut for blood testing for a fight with him. Mayweather originally wanted Pacquiao to agree to the 14 days last time they tried unsuccessfully to negotiate. Pacquiao stuck with 24 days then, and the fight didn’t get made. Now months later after Pacquiao beat Joshua Clottey and Mayweather beat Shane Mosley, Pacquiao is agreeing to Mayweather’s original request of 14 days.
Arum doesn’t believe that Mayweather is going to take a one or two year off – News
By Sean McDaniel: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum doesn’t believe that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is really going to take a couple of years off from boxing like Mayweather said in a YouTube video on June 2nd. In an article at ABC-CBN, Arum said “I’m saying that’s Floyd being Floyd. Until there’s an official press release saying that, I choose to believe differently. You know Mayweather says a lot of things that he really doesn’t believe. I really don’t know what’s on his head. We really don’t know. Let’s see if he decides to take a hiatus for a year or two years. I’m sure he’ll make that statement in a proper way, such as a press release.”
