By Jim Dower: In one of your better heavyweight match-ups, undefeated Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev (15-0, 7 KO’s) will be fighting 6’7″ Ukrainian Alexander Dimitrenko (32-1, 21 KO’s) for the vacant European Boxing Union (EBU) heavyweight title on May 5th at the Messehalle in Erfurt, Germany. This is a great fight between two good but flawed big heavyweights. It’s difficult to pick a winner here because both fighters have a lot of positives and minuses that cancel each other out.

Dimitrenko and Pulev will be battling for the EBU heavyweight regional strap.

Also on the card will be a fight between Arthur Abraham and Piotr Wilczewski in super middleweight action.

Helenius stops Bidenko, Pulev defeats Oloukun – Boxing Results
By Erik Schmidt: Undefeated Robert Helenius (10-0, 6 KO’s) won by a 3rd round stoppage victory over Ukrainian Taras Bidenko (26-4, 12 KO’s) on Saturday night at the Arena Nürnberger Versicherung, Nuremberg (Nürnberg), Bayern, Germany. Helenius, 25, was in control over the fight at the time of the stoppage, which came at the end of the 3rd round due to a large cut over the right eye of Bindenko.
