Diego Chaves is a dangerous fight for Kell Brook, says Bradley

brook3By Scott Gilfoid: IBF welterweight champion Kell “Special K” Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) had better get his clinching skills ready because he could be in for a real tough fight next month when he faces the hard hitting Argentinian Diego Chaves (23-2-1, 19 KOs) in a 12 round affair on October 24th on Sky Box Office from the Sheffield Arena, in Sheffield, UK.

American WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley thinks that Brook could be in for a really grueling fight when he gets inside the ring with Chaves and he sees this fight as one that could be a lot tougher than Brook expects it to be.

Kell Brook: I can go past Mayweather’s 49-0 record

brook67By Scott Gilfoid: IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KO) says he wants to go after Floyd Mayweather Jr’s 49-0 record and surpass it by going 50-0 or better before he’s done with his career. With his passed record of mostly fluff opponents, the 29-year-old Brook is only 14 wins away from equaling Mayweather’s 49-0 record.

With the way that Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn is matching him, I think it’s quite possible for Brook to equal and break the record. It’s not as if Brook is being matched up against quality opposition.

Danny Garcia wants Khan and Brook fights

garcia6655By Scott Gilfoid: Former WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia says he’s very interested in facing both Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) and IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KOs). Whether Garcia gets fights against either of those guys remains to be seen. My guess is Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn will keep him far, far away from Garcia for as long as humanly possible.

The only way I see Garcia getting a fight against Brook is if he was the IBF mandatory challenger, and Brook had no choice but to take the fight or else he’d be stripped of his IBF title.

Manny PacquiaoBy Scott Gilfoid: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has listed the three opponents he’ll be making his decision about in picking out his fighter Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent for his fight in February or March or 2016. The list consists of these three names: Terence Crawford, Amir Khan and Kell Brook.

Whether Pacquiao fights any of those guys will be determined on if his shoulder heals up properly by next year. Pacquiao is still doing rehab right now, and it remains to be seen whether he’ll be able to return to the ring in early 2016 like Arum wants him to.

Espinoza explains why Khan and Brook didn’t get Mayweather fight

khanBy Scott Gilfoid: If you’re wondering why Floyd Mayweather Jr. passed over Kell Brook and Amir Khan for his upcoming fight on Saturday night, it was a simple matter of neither of them being suitable for the fight.

According to Showtime vice president of sports Stephen Espinoza, Andre Berto was the best choice for Mayweather’s fight rather than the likes of Khan and Brook. Khan had Ramadan that kept him fasting until July. Khan would have had to get in training camp immediately after fasting, and be ready to fight by September 12th.

Kell Brook v Diego Chaves: Questions for British Boxing

chaves#1By Gav Duthie: When I think about what the next year holds for Kell Brook an entire series of questions flood me. The news he is fighting Diego Chaves on October 24 in Sheffield is no surprise. Brooks future is not just important for the man himself but also has wider connotations for British boxing, Pay-per-view in the UK as well as Eddie Hearns’ Matchroom promotions as a major player.

After the retirement of Carl Froch, Kell Brook is the new face of Matchroom. With some of Hearns stable seeking advice from Al Haymon is there really enough confidence that Hearn can deliver a top flight career on his own in the UK.

Kell Brook says he might fight 43-year-old Mosley if he keeps talking

brook54566By Scott Gilfoid: It looks like we may soon be seeing a nice little mismatch between IBF welterweight champion Kell “The Special One” Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) if Brook can get past the hard hitting No.4 IBF contender Diego Chaves (23-2-1, 19 KOs) on October 24th at the Sheffield Arena, Sheffield, UK.

Brook is starting to show interest in facing the soon to be 44-year-old Shane Mosley (48-9-1, 40 KOs) in a match. Mosley turns 44 four days from now on September 7th. Mosley recently took to Twitter following his win over 41-year-old relic from the past Ricardo Mayorga, saying “Either [Juan Manuel] Marquez or I would like to fight Special K Brook and snatch the belt from him.”
