Chavez Jr., 23, has been added to the card and surprise, surprise, will be facing another B level fighter, this one Troy Rowland (25-2, 7 KO) in a scheduled 10-round bout.

Chavez Jr. Destroys LeHoullier

By Jim Dower: In perhaps his best performance of his career, unbeaten light middleweight contender Julio Chavez Jr. (40-0-1, 30 KO’s) crushed Jason LeHoullier (21-2-1, 8 KO’s) in a 1st round technical knockout last night to successfully defend his World Boxing Council Latino light middleweight title at the El Palenque de la Feria, Tepic, in Nayarit, Mexico. Chavez Jr., 23, the son of boxing hall of Fame star Julio Cesar Chavez, caught LeHoullier with a tremendous left hook late in the 1st round, knocking LeHoullier to the canvas.

Chavez Jr. vs. Duddy in 2010?

duddy667By Dave Lahr: It looks as if light middleweight contender Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (39-0-1, 29 KO’s) could be facing previously unbeaten middleweight contender John Duddy (26-1, 17 KO’s) sometime in 2010, according to the latest boxing news. Promoter Bob Arum is looking at putting the fight together for a fight in the spring of 2010. However, before Chavez and Duddy meet up, they would first be fighting on the same card in December against other opponents.

The bout is scheduled for 10 rounds, which for Chavez Jr. is a good thing, because his questionable stamina likely won’t come into play.
