Joshua vs. Pulev possible for Nov.

By Jeff Aranow: Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn is interested in potentially making a huge heavyweight triple-header on November 26, with IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev (23-1, 12 KOs) headlining at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in late November or December. Also on the card, British heavyweights Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora is in play. A match between heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker is another one of the fights for the card. Discussions are being held for the fights, and it would be a pretty big deal if the card comes off.

Parker, 24, is Joshua’s IBF mandatory challenger, but Hearn will likely wait until early 2017 before he puts the fight together between them. In the meantime, Parker can get some valuable air time on Sky Box Office if he fights the 6’8” Price on the undercard of the Joshua-Pulev card. Price, 33, wants a title shot against Joshua, and if he can beat Parker, he would earn the fight.

Price wants Parker, Breazeale or Molina for Joshua card

Image: Price wants Parker, Breazeale or Molina for Joshua card

By Scott Gilfoid: Heavyweight David Price (20-3, 17 KOs) and his trainer Dave Coldwell are highly ambitious for the Anthony Joshua undercard on November 26 in wanting the likes of Joseph Parker, Dominic Breazeale (17-1, 15 KOs) or Eric Molina as an opponent.

Price, 33, is hoping that with a win over one of the above mentioned fighters, he’ll be able to get a title shot against Joshua. However, it might take a win over someone better than Breazeale or Molina for the 6’8” Price to get a shot against Joshua.

It’s not as if Breazeale and Molina have been getting great results with their careers lately. If Price could beat the young 24-year-old Joseph Parker on November 26, it would be a HUGE win for him, and obviously that would open the door for a title shot against Joshua.

Hearn wants Price to fight Parker in final eliminator for Joshua match

price1

By Scott Gilfoid: If Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn gets his way, British heavyweight David Price (20-3, 17 KOs) will be fighting on the undercard of International Boxing Federation heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s next fight in November in a final eliminator bout against Joseph Parker.

Price, 33, is very interested in fighting Joshua in November. Hearn says he wants Price to get a big win in a break through fight for him to earn the fight against Joshua. Hearn wants Joshua to be fighting only credible opponents right now for his next fight, and he’s looking at one of the three following opponents for that fight: Bermane Stiverne, Kubrat Pulev and Joseph Parker.

Joseph Parker vs. Alexander Dimitrenko possible for September

dimitrenko434333

By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten #1 IBF heavyweight contender Joseph Parker (20-0, 17 KOs) is expected to have a stay busy fight announced this week for September against former contender Alexander Dimtrenko (38-2, 24 KOs). Parker, 24, is staying active while he waits for an eventual world title shot against IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. It’s still not official yet that Parker will be fighting Dimitrenko next, but it’s expected to be announced this week. It’s a decent warm-up fight for Parker. He could do worse.

The Joshua-Parker fight could take place as early as November; although it’s more likely to take place in early 2017. Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn is keen on having him squeeze in another voluntary defense before he defends his IBF strap against the hard-hitting 6’4” Parker.

Parker looked good in obliterating Solomon Haumono by a 4th round knockout last week on July 21 in New Zealand. Parker showed good punch variety and excellent movement before lowering the boom on the 40-year-old Haumono in round four.

By Jeff Aranow: Unbeaten #1 IBF heavyweight contender Joseph Parker (20-0, 17 KOs) stayed in line for a mandated title shot against IBF champion Anthony Joshua by stopping the heavy puncher #11 WBA Solomon Haumono (24-3-2, 21 KOs) in the 4th round to stay undefeated on Thursday evening at the Horncastle Arena in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Joseph Parker vs. Solomon Haumono this Thursday

parker44

By Patrick McHugh: Undefeated #1 IBF heavyweight contender Joseph Parker (19-0, 16 KOs) will be fighting this Thursday night against #11 WBA Solomon Haumono (24-2-2, 21 KOs) in what is supposed to be a 12 round fight at the Horncastle Arena, in Christchurch, New Zealand. There’s expected to be a sizable crowd attending the fight.

This is likely the last stop for the 24-year-old Parker before he challenges for a world title against IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. Parker recently defeated Carlos Takam by a 12 round decision last May in their IBF heavyweight title eliminator bout.

This will be an interesting fight for Parker, because it gives him a chance to show what he can do against arguably the second best opponent in his four-year pro career.

Joshua has until January 9 to face Joseph Parker

joshua841233

By Scott Gilfoid: IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (17-0, 17 KOs) has less than five months to make his final voluntary defense before needing to negotiate a fight against his IBF mandatory challenger 24-year-old Joseph Parker (19-0, 16 KOs). Joshua’s defense against Parker is due by January 9, 2017. If he doesn’t defend it against him by that point, then he’ll likely be stripped of his title by the International Boxing Federation. Parker is going to be a tough out for Joshua, because unlike many of the opponents that the British heavyweight has been matched against since he turned pro, Parker will fight back. He’s not just going to stand there like a human punching bag with arms for 12 rounds hoping that Joshua gets tired at some point of throwing punches.

Joshua destroyed #13 IBF Dominic Breazeale (17-1, 15 KOs) by a 7th round knockout last Saturday night in Joshua’s first optional defense of his title at the O2 Arena in London, England. Breazeale was chosen by Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn in part due to him being unbeaten, a 2012 U.S Olympian, and because Joshua recently signed a multi-fight contract with U.S cable network Showtime.

Joseph Parker very confident of beating Anthony Joshua

parker44

By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten #1 IBF contender Joseph Parker (19-0, 16 KOs) saw IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s fight against Dominic Breazeale last Saturday night, and he feels very confident against British fighter when the two of them do face each other, according to Parker’s promoter Dean Lonergan.

Parker is Joshua’s mandatory challenger, and he’s ready to fight him in November or in early 2017. He’ll be ready for that fight when it does take place. Parker, 24, has the youth, jab, size, power and the boxing skills to give Joshua his first loss of his career.

“How is AJ going to go when he’s eating Joseph’s jab all night?” said Lonerman to skysports.com. “After Saturday night, we’re very confident, Joseph is very confident.”

Hearn wants Joshua to take another voluntary defense in November

joshua75

By Scott Gilfoid: Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn is talking about having IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua fight another voluntary defense in November or December, and then from taking on his IBF mandatory challenger Joseph Parker (19-0, 16 KOs) in his fight after that.

Hearn is talking about wanting to potentially have Joshua fight in December and asking the International Boxing Federation for an exception so that he doesn’t need to fight the 24-year-old Parker at that time. I knew it was too good to be true. As soon as Hearn first started talking about wanting to match Joshua against Parker before the end of the year, I didn’t believe it. Sure enough, it looks like Hearn is going to try and have Joshua dodge the Parker fight.

Hearn wants Joshua to face Parker or Klitschko in November

joshua4345

By Scott Gilfoid: Well, I knew it was too good to be true. After WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (36-0, 35 KOs) stepped up to the plate to volunteer to fight IBF heavyweight belt holder Anthony Joshua (17-0, 17 KOs) for his next fight, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn says he would like to match him against his mandatory challenger #1 IBF Joseph Parker (19-0, 16 KOs) or 40-year-old Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) next in November.

It’s unclear why Hearn doesn’t want to pull the trigger on the Joshua vs. Wilder fight, but you have to guess that he might have reservations about wanting to throw his golden goose into the deep end of the pool in the shark infested waters where he could wind up getting ripped apart.

Joshua beat the easy to hit fringe contender Dominic Breazeale (17-1, 15 KOs) by a 7th round knockout last Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, England. Breazeale was just hanging around taking punishment for seven rounds without even trying to throw right hands. It was pretty sad to watch.
