By Dan Ambrose: Former WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee (34-3-1, 24 KOs) will be fighting for the first time in a year and a half when he faces 28-year-old KeAndrae Leatherwood (19-3-1, 12 KOs) on the untelevised portion of the Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs card on March 18 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
RingTV.com is reporting the news about the 32-year-old Lee fighting Leatherwood on the Golovkin-Jacobs card.
By Scott Gilfoid: Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18 KOs) says he’s going to “roast” middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin. Eubank Jr. says he’s formulated a plan that he plans on using against Golovkin when the two of them eventually share the ring together. Eubank Jr. says he’s not impressed with Golovkin, and he sees “holes” in his game that he plans on taking advantage of.
Just when the two of them will be facing each other is the big question. Eubank Jr. already blew one chance to fight Golovkin on September 10 last year when he failed to sign the contract for the fight.

Eubank Jr. thinks that he’ll ultimately be the one that hands the unbeaten Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) his first loss of his career in the near future.
When the two of them get around to facing each other is anyone’s guess. Eubank Jr. has a fight this Saturday night against IBO super middleweight champion Renold Quinlan (11-1, 7 KOs) on February 4 on ITV pay-per-view at the Olympia in London, England. Eubank Jr. is expected to win that fight.
By Dan Ambrose: Many boxing fans have the mistaken belief that IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) has poor defensive skills and is easy to hit, which they think could come back to haunt him in his fight against Daniel Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) on March 18 in their fight on HBO pay-per-view at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Golovkin’s trainer Abel Sanchez says that’s the farthest thing to the truth. Sanchez says that Golovkin won’t be careless in his fight against the 29-year-old Jacobs, although he doesn’t see the fight lasting more than eight rounds due to Golovkin’s huge punching power.
By Dan Ambrose: Paulie Malignaggi says he doesn’t get what’s so special about the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fight, and he feels that the Gennady “GGG” Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs match-up is a much better fight in terms of entertainment. I think for a lot of boxing fans, they agree with Malignaggi.
Canelo-Chavez Jr. pales in comparison to the Golovkin-Jacobs fight, which matches two of the best fighters in the middleweight division today against each other. Golovkin and Jacobs are two knockout artists with 62 knockouts between them.

It’s being said that Golovkin will fight Saunders in his native Kazakhstan, which is an unusual location for the fight.
Golovkin has been fighting mostly in the U.S lately, and it would seem like the smarter move by him to continue to do so. What’s kind of surprising is that Golovkin is looking past his March 18 fight against WBA World middleweight champion Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) to take the fight against Saunders.

Jacobs is going to be training with light heavyweight champion Andre Ward’s trainer Virgil Hunter in his gym in Oakland, California for this training camp to get ready for Triple G.
There’s a possibility that Jacobs could do some sparring with Ward, who recently beat the hard hitting Sergey Kovalev by a 12 round unanimous decision last November to take his IBF/WBA/WBO 175lb titles. The strategy that the 29-year-old Jacobs will be using for Golovkin is his secret.
By Dan Ambrose: Gennady Golovkin’s trainer Abel Sanchez isn’t ruling out an upset victory for Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (50-2-1, 32 KOs) in his fight against favorite Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) in their fight on May 6. Sanchez says that the fight could be turned around by one big punch from Chavez Jr. to Canelo. When he’s at his best, Chavez Jr. is kind of a beat with his ability to absorb shots and dish out punishment. who can forget how Chavez Jr. made the 5’10” Sergio Martinez look small in comparison in their fight in 2012. Martinez is taller than Canelo by at least an inch, possibly two. We don’t really know how tall Canelo is. He might be shorter than his listed height of 5’9″.
Sanchez believes that Golovkin is at risk of losing his next fight to WBA World middleweight champion Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) on March 18. Jacobs is a big puncher, and viewed as a risky fight for Golovkin. Of the two fights, you’d have to say that Golovkin is at greater risk of losing to Jacobs than Canelo is in facing the ring rusty Chavez Jr, who will need to melt down to 164 ½ pounds to face him at a catch-weight.
