Mayweather to still fight Pacquiao even if He Loses to Cotto?

may3421345By Manuel Perez: Wow, I thought I had heard them all, but comments from Floyd Mayweather’s uncle Jeff Mayweather tonight from sports.inquirer, in which Mayweather explained that Floyd may still fight Manny Pacquiao next, even if Manny loses to Miguel Cotto on November 14th, just seems weird to me. “Just as long as he doesn’t lose in a devastating manner it would still be the biggest fight out there,” Jeff Mayweather said.

Khan thinks Pacquiao could beat Mayweather – News

mayweather34234342By Manuel Perez: For what it’s worth, World Boxing Association light welterweight champion Amir Khan thinks that Manny Pacquiao can beat Floyd Mayweather in the future, according to the Telegraph.co. “I think Manny [Pacquiao] might take the fight with his speed,” Khan said. However, the opinion doesn’t have much weight as far as I’m concerned because Khan, after all, does train with Pacquiao and has the same trainer Freddie Roach. It’s not like Khan’s a neutral observer or anything, like me.

If Not Mosley, Who Will Mayweather Be Fighting Next?

mayweather42334By Chris Williams: Judging from recent comments made by Floyd Mayweather Jr., it appears now that he won’t be facing Shane Mosley next or maybe not at all, period. This leaves me to wonder who Mayweather will be besides the obvious, Manny Pacquiao. That’s a fight that many boxing fans want to see but it might not be possible to negotiate because of the egos of the two fighters involved. Mayweather will want the bigger split of the purse, and so will Pacquiao.

By Chris Williams: HBO is announcing that last weekend’s bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez has brought in an incredible 1 million pay-per-view buys, bringing in $52 million dollars. If this number is in fact true, and not some bogus number thrown up by HBO to try and make the Mayweather-Marquez event look bigger and better than it was perceived, then I see it as a bad thing for boxing.

Roach Wants Pacquiao to Fight Mayweather Before Retirement

pac4543By Manuel Perez: It looks like Manny Pacquiao is really interested in trying to become a politician. I wish him a lot of luck. His trainer Freddie Roach said this to GMA News: “I would like (Manny) to finish with beating Mayweather.” Finish with beating Mayweather? What is that about? Pacquiao hasn’t even fought Miguel Cotto yet and already Roach is having visions of Mayweather. Someone needs to wake Roach out of his reverie and delusions of grandeur. Pacquiao is going to be picking up his teeth on November 14th when Cotto sends Pacquiao packing his bags for his political career.
