Mayweather has got under Manny’s skin

By Michael Taylor: Floyd Mayweather Jr. is known so well by boxing fans for his torments and the way he gets under opponents skin, but usually does it when they stand face to face, and when the fight is arranged. But this time Mayweather has already enraged Manny Pacquiao, and Manny wasn’t short of words in a recent interview back in the Philippines. Manny has now agreed to do urine tests before the fight but still the fight is still in danger.

Unhappy with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Image: Unhappy with Floyd Mayweather Jr.By Eamon Mcdonald: Honestly, Floyd Mayweather Jr. upsets me so much and I’m only an armchair fan. I live in Ireland so it’s extremely difficult to get a ticket for a big fight. Mayweather is a great boxer, he knows the sport well and has been blessed with great ability. It’s a shame, though, that his style often makes for awful fights that fail to excite whilst Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Shane Mosley, to name a few, don’t get paid as much as him (well, Manny Pacquiao does now). In my views, their fights are much more exciting because they are willing to spill blood to win a fight.

Will Matthew Hatton be next for Mayweather?

By William Mackay: I don’t know about you, but I’ve pretty much given up on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight. I don’t think it’s going to happen the way things are looking. Neither of these two fighters appears to be close to giving in and coming to an agreement about the drug testing. Mayweather wants random blood testing all the way through the training period up through the 30 days before the fight, whereas Pacquiao wants the blood testing to stop at 30 days before fight.

Roy Jones Jr. takes Pacquiao’s side about the blood tests

Image: Roy Jones Jr. takes Pacquiao's side about the blood testsBy Scott Gilfoid: The great Roy Jones Jr. is firmly on Manny Pacquiao’s side, according to an interview at Boxing Talk. Speaking about the blood tests, Jones said “Why should he [Pacquiao] change for Floyd? [Mayweather]…If you’re going to check him, why didn’t you check [Juan Manuel] Marquez? It’s kind of strange to call him out on this, and nobody else.” I totally agree with you, Roy. Why make poor Pacquiao the whipping boy for this new steroid testing? If they wanted to change the rules at this point, it should have come from the Nevada Athletic Commission, not the Mayweather camp.

Pacquiao: “I will abide by the NSAC requirements like in all of the fights in boxing history, including all of my fights”

Boxing’s pound-for-pound champion Manny Pacquiao became more incensed at Floyd Mayweather Jr., Floyd Sr. and executives of Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) for twisting facts and coming up with false statements that intended to cover up the mess that they created even as they put the blame on the Filipino and his team for the snag of talks to make the projected biggest fight in history from happening.

“I can’t believe these guys can lie without batting an eyelash and they would even make it appear that I am the culprit for the delay of the fight and saying that I don’t want it to happen,” said Pacquiao in Tagalog, as he released part of the information that he has been keeping—proof that Mayweather Jr. directly accused him of performance enhancement drugs (PED) use..

Boxing Inspiration

Image: Boxing InspirationBy Michael Taylor: Since starting watching boxing just over a year ago, I have finally found a sport I love. I tried football and rugby but boxing tops them both. I haven’t been into boxing very long; I first started watching it when Amir Khan used to be on ITV, then the first real big event I watched was Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Ricky Hatton. Last year was when I really started to enjoy the sport, just before the fight between Antonio Margarito vs Miguel Cotto.

Matthew Hatton hoping to get the call from Mayweather

Image: Matthew Hatton hoping to get the call from MayweatherBy Sean McDaniel: Fringe welterweight contender Matthew Hatton (37-4-2, 14 KO’s) is hoping to get the call from Floyd Mayweather Jr. as a replacement opponent for him should Floyd’s March 13th mega fight with Manny Pacquiao fall through. Hatton, 28, is the younger brother of former International Boxing Federation welterweight champion Ricky Hatton. Matthew Hatton is much less well known than his older brother, but is kind of a diamond in the rough. He has good overall skills, but is still a developing fighter at 28.

Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, or Malignaggi, Watch Your Tongue

Image: Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, or Malignaggi, Watch Your TongueBy Lorne Scoggins: Let’s try this on for size: Manny Pacquiao vs. Paulie Malignaggi. How does that work for you? Do those words make your heart speed up just a little? No? What about the thought of Pacquiao shooting one of those blinding, “out of nowhere” uppercuts at the precise moment that the Magic Man sticks out his tongue? Now that could be interesting to see.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: The Official “It’s On!” Is Coming

Image: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: The Official "It's On!" Is ComingBy Frank Car: Look for the official “It’s On” to be coming today, tomorrow or very soon. There has never been much of a doubt in my mind at all that this will go through. The whole “fight is dead” plainly put, is propaganda garbage, used as a “threat tool” in the negotiations. There have been some ways which they are contemplating handling the seemingly last issue of blood tests and it’s almost there.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: An Absolute Disgrace

Image: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: An Absolute DisgraceBy Adam Laiolo: Before i start, I love both fighters for their own individual reasons. I love Manny Pacquiao’s explosiveness and Floyd Mayweather’s defensive genius and I believe both their records are among the best in the sport. But after negotiations begun, it was clear that things were going far too smoothly. The date, the purse, the venue even the gloves was easily sorted out. Mayweather then released what he thought was an ace up his sleeve in the drug tests, which has since turned out to be one of the worst decisions he has made.
