By Scott Gilfoid: ESPN sports writer Dan Rafael sounding more than a little fed up about the stalemate between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, said in his column at ESPN, “Enough with the drug testing nonsense. Mayweather shouldn’t be making accusations without a shred of proof, as he tries to discredit all of Pacquiao’s great accomplishments, nor should he try to circumvent the Nevada rules by asking for blood tests when the commission has never asked for them…They should flip a coin and stop holding the sports world hostage.” I totally agree with Rafael about them needing to get past all of this somehow.

Mayweather-Pacquiao: Why can’t they work this out?
By Chris Williams: With each of these huge stars capable of making $40 million each for their March 13th fight in Las Vegas, it seems mind boggling to the average boxing fan how Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao can’t work out their differences with the random blood testing and make their fight happen. Maybe it doesn’t matter once you’re rich to the point where money like that doesn’t get you in gear like it would for an average person.

Forget Arum. Forget Malignaggi. Forget everything but, Floyd and Manny. Why, if these are supposed to be two of the best fighters in history, is there any avoidance going on?! In my opinion, they have both shown themselves up badly and done the sport no favours whatsoever with their recent actions. Or rather, lack thereof!

By William Mackay: Promoter Bob Arum says that he’s been given instructions from his fighter World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao to look for another fight, according to the Mirror. Arum says “We contacted Manny [Pacquiao], and his position is firm, irrevocable. He instructed us to pursue another fight, period. I don’t see the fight happening now.” Arum doesn’t exactly seem optimistic about making the huge potential mega fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao happen.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could all get along? Unfortunately, it seems as though this mega match will happen in the courts rather than the ring. I would love to think this is all part of a media stunt in promoting the bout, but I can’t see it myself. Worlds pound for pound best fighting each other.

By Dave Lahr: Due to the contract difficulties between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, it’s looking like their March 13th bout won’t be happening now. Although there is still work being done behind the scenes to try and save the mega fight, it won’t be possible without either Mayweather or Pacquiao giving in about the random blood tests. Barring one of the sides giving in, Pacquiao could be facing WBA light middleweight champion Yuri Foreman next instead of Mayweather.

By Jason Kim: As reported by The Grand Rapids Press, World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao could stand to win tens of millions of dollars if his lawsuit for defamation against Floyd Mayweather Jr., Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Sr., Roger Mayweather and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer is successful. Pacquiao has hired famous American lawyer Daniel Petrocelli to represent him in this case. Petrocelli said in an interview at Grand Rapids Press, “They’ve already done untold damage, in the tens of millions of dollars, and we’re going to see this doesn’t happen again, and we’re going to recover for all the damage that they’ve already inflicted.”

Will Pacquiao’s lawsuit against Mayweather make it impossible for the fight to be made?
By Jason Kim: I don’t begrudge Manny Pacquiao for wanting to file a lawsuit for defamation against Floyd Mayweather Jr., his father Floyd Sr., Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, as reported today, but I think this may make it much harder to make the mega fight possible between Pacquiao and Mayweather now. It’s not impossible for the fight to still be made, but this likely won’t help matters. Besides that, Pacquiao is taking a lot of heat from boxing fans in internet boxing forums and in the comment sections of blogs.
