Will Mayweather want a rematch with Mosley if he gets brutally knocked out?

Image: Will Mayweather want a rematch with Mosley if he gets brutally knocked out?By Dave Lahr: Okay, so Floyd Mayweather Jr. is taking on WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley on May 1st. We already know that Mayweather hasn’t been exactly the busiest of fighters in the past three yrears. The guy has only fought one time against Juan Manuel Marquez, who was smaller, slower and coming up in weight for the fight. Beyond that, Mayweather has been taking on other smaller fighters like Ricky Hatton and Zab Judah, and beating them on size alone.

Mayweather-Mosley: Will Floyd throw enough punches to win?

Image: Mayweather-Mosley: Will Floyd throw enough punches to win?By Chris Williams: Floyd Mayweather Jr. (40-0, 25 KO’s) isn’t known for having a high work rate, but on May 1st, he’s going to have to find a way to throw more punches than he normally does if he wants to beat World Boxing Association welterweight champion Shane Mosley (46-1, 39 KO’s). Mayweather, 33, will be facing a steady withering fire all night long from the 38-year-old Mosley, and unless Mayweather is able to match his punch volume, Mayweather could end up losing and being the one who looks 38.

Mayweather-Mosley: Is Shane the physically younger fighter?

Image: Mayweather-Mosley: Is Shane the physically younger fighter?By Jason Kim: In looking at both Shane Mosley and Floyd Mayweather Jr. standing side by side, I’m struck at how youthful Mosley looks compared to Mayweather, the younger fighter. Mosley is 38, five years older than Mayweather, is supposedly a fighter that some people feel might be too old in this fight against Mayweather to win. However, people age at different rates and even if one person is five years younger than another person like Mayweather, the older person can still be physically younger. When I look at Mosley and Mayweather, I think Mosley looks to be the younger person.

Image: Mayweather vs. Mosley: Is this as good as it gets for Floyd?By Jason Kim: For Floyd Mayweather Jr. his fight against Shane Mosley next month on May 1st might just well be the pinnacle of his career. It’s sad to say, but I think this could be the final really large mega fight of Mayweather’s career. He’s not likely to face Manny Pacquiao in the near future or every because of Mayweather’s demands that Pacquiao take the Olympic style random blood tests, which Pacquiao is totally against and not likely to give into to satisfy Mayweather.

Mosley to force Mayweather to engage

Image: Mosley to force Mayweather to engageBy Jim Dower: World Boxing Association welterweight champion Shane Mosley (46-5, 39 KO’s) plans on making unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. (40-0, 25 KO’s) fight him in their upcoming May 1st bout at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mosley, 38, says in article at Boxing Fanhouse, “Style-wise, Floyd doesn’t really like to engage in a fight until he’s ready to engages. He has to be forced to engage in a real fight…Other fighters will try to engage and try to knock you out early and really fight you, where Floyd kind of boxes around, moves, touches, taps.” Mosley has to find a way to get Mayweather out of his comfort zone, because few of his opponents have done a good job of pressuring him during his career with the exception of Jose Luis Castillo in their first fight eight years ago in April 2002.
